Naruto is like the Matrix?

There is a theory that suggests that even upon "leaving" the matrix, Neo and the other inhabitants of Zion were still in fact in the matrix (see this site for a slightly more detailed description see here:

I propose that perhaps, in a similar manner, all the characters in the Narutoverse are actually in the matrix (ie the Moon's Eye Plan). Presumably, the Sage of the Six Paths (or even Madara) could have already put everyone under and the story we're reading is a lie.

I recognize that this is a BS theory, but it's an interesting scope to look at things through.

I don't think so, even though Tobi is making no effort, but still taking his time to capture the remaining Bijuu/Jinchuuriki, he still plays on capturing the Bijuu/Jinchuuriki. It would be still interesting if so.

A lot of things Kishi does are a middle finger to the world. Presumably though, if someone had activated the Moon's Eye Plan, it could be kept in place after they die (like Kabuto's Edo Tensei) and once they do die, the user's not there to keep control.

Not this theory, but i assume that Tobi actually completes his moons eye plane to some degree, and sends Naruto in to a Genjutsu world where everything is Different.

Yes he actually designed Garaa's costume based on the 2nd matrix movie's Neo overcoat.

Eh, I don't think a genjustu that doesn't go away is that implausible when Edo Tensei can remain after the user dies. Again, I have to stress that the theory is a load of crap. It's just a different way to look at things.

How so? The Matrix is just a modern allegory of the traditional western hero tail, and Naruto has its links to that. For example, both Naruto and Neo are young men destined to bring peace to the world by overcoming adversity and fighting a power that seeks to control people.
