I'm sure many got the impression that Madara's sharingan resembled not just a kaleidescrope pattern, but a clock or sundial as well, especially with the way it spun.

If anyone here has ever played the original tomb raider (which I doubt) or at least its remake called TR: Anniversary, the Scion was the clock-like artifact Lara sought in it that powered the lost city of atlantis, as well as destroyed it. One of it's three alien rulers, who bears a striking resemblance to Kaguya in appearance and character used forbidden biogenesis knowledge, much like Madara to unlock its full power and use it to turn atlantis's people into an army of flesh-eating mutants to take over the world and its pyramid into an incubatium for them. Before she could succeed however, the other two rulers stopped and sealed her (lols), but she broke out thousands of years later and disguised herself as a corporate engineer CEO before hiring Lara to find the artifact for her.

Kishimoto has stated before that he was inspired by several fantasy games. (Yes, I know the tale of the bamboo cutter).

Nice Thread ! I want to add few more details i believe most of the video games were inspired by old folktales and novels .

Also Kishi is a big fan of Journey to the west he claimed most of his ideas of dojutsu came from this novel . This novel potrays a monkey King Sun Wukong ,he ate and drank immortality fruit and wine he was captured for this crime due to his rebellious nature and going against Heaven.

the Monkey God-King, Sun Wukong, was then sealed into Lao Tzu's Eight Trigram furnace to be burned to ash in order for Lao Tzu to reclaim his pills of longevity. But after 49 days, Sun Wukong broke outstronger than ever his body having been refined by the flames instead of being reduced to ash. His eyes had also become a fiery red and golden colour, becoming known as his "Fiery-eyes golden-gaze".

There is also pdf version of it you will find it interesting that Chinese folktales were the ones inspired Japanese anime and PS games like Gods of wars ,Samurai 7 etc . XD.

+Rep for your thread.

Great nerd minds think alike :)

And I don't mean that to be an insult - it's just a natural outcome of sharing the same experiences/inspirations.

Yes, but I wasn't speaking of the three tomoe sharingan, I was discussing Madara's EMS.
