It is not unrealistic. You choose who you will become, no one else. You can become like him if you want, however you choose not to and therefore there will never be peace in this world. Because everyone believe that for some reason revenge would be the key to happiness, but does revenge bring back your lost? Revenge will only bring you more pain, suffering and foes.
