Okay, this doesn't sound right. Naruto says, he's not gonna be the loser who get killed by Sasuke nor will be the hero to kill Sasuke. He won't be ether. And he's not gonna be hokage if he can't saved a friend. Obito is the one who cause all this chaos and he killed the Uchiha clan. Sasuke should kill the one who lied to him and used him and Itachi for doing all those things and the one is: OBITO UCHIHA!
If one of them has to die...that won't be naruto...it would be sasuke....Even if kishi's fav. character is sasuke...In the end sasuke will either have to live under naruto or die...and an ending that anti-climatic wouldn't really please the fans....besides when the main character dies in a manga, it is usually if he is a negative hero like light from death note or lelouch from code geass...and naruto is anything but a negative hero

Typically true however if the hero does a great justice to the world through death he can possibly save his friend u unite the shinobi world and or even accomplish somthing greater than he could have even as hokage his death may be more relevant than others might be willing to consider

Besides I think most fans were happeir with obito when he died as a child than what he has become
