Ok so I have come to the conclusion that Naruto is a dumbass when he is not fighting a battle where something is on the line, but becomes a ****ing genius when something is on the line and he always wins. (Only exception is when he fought Sasuke at the Final Valley)

Example: Minor battle: Naruto vs Konohamaru, Konohamaru Wins

Example: Major battle: Naruto vs Pain, Naruto

Maybe this has to do with Plot
