I like the dub. Only characters whose voices I don't like are
Killer B
Omoi - his VA is good as Darui, and he's good in the Nick Cartoons. But there's times, as Omoi where his performance seems off / forced when he's doing a more serious scene. He's got the funny scenes down.
Those are the 2 that come to mind. But I like the dub, and I think their performances are good. But I like the sub as well. I have no issues with either. Both have cases of doing better than the other at certain times.
Overall, I like Mailie's Naruto better than Junko. But the latter did better in some scenes than the former, still. Junko's scene was better than Maile's when Naruto cries for Gaara.
During Sakura's breakdown at the Tenchi bridge, her Jap VA nailed it. Kate didn't do as well. But she still does nicely as Sakura in general.
But then with Kinkaku & Ginkaku, I preferred their English voices. Keith Silverstein was great as Ginkaku, imo.
With Kinkaku's VA in Jap, he sounded lazy, or like he was bored. John Bentley seemed to have more emotion in the part when Kinkaku starts to rampage. But he did mess up when he reads one of Ginkaku's lines, thus the voice is wrong - with Kinkaku's voice coming out of Ginkaku lol
Jiraiya and Kisame, and Oro I also like better in English. But doesn't mean the Jap VA are bad.
So, both are good, and have their strong parts. I usually watch the dub. But if it's not dubbed yet, I can watch subs and enjoy it. I saw Boruto in theaters, and subbed didn't bother me at all. But with my vision, I did miss a few things.
