Naruto ends Nov.17th, not 10th. On chap.700

I've been reading threads, and a lot of people have been misunderstanding the end date of Naruto. *********** themselves got the date wrong also so that's probably why. It's ending on November 17th, on chapter 700, not chapter 699 on November 10th. The official viz chapter that came out two days ago on October 13th said 5 more weeks. That's from the official release date. So it ends on chapter 700. Which officially comes November 17th, obviously the scanlators will release it a few days earlier, but it's still chapter 700. Just wanted to clear that up.

I don't know, that doesn't make sense. Viz wouldn't put 5 weeks to go this past Monday if it's only 4 weeks. And ending on chapter 699 is stupid. The only explanation I have for that site is that some people get the chapters early, like I heard if you pay for a subscription in Japan or something like that, you get the chapter a week earlier. That's how the scanlators get them early, through those people. So technically it does ends before the 17th, but the official last chapter that goes out into retail stores is on the 17th.

Edit: what is that site anyway? How is that official? Why would the real Japanese naruto site have .com address and not .jp? If you try just Naruto.com it goes straight to viz's site. I don't know.

The official website of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump announced today on October 6 that Masashi Kishimoto's long-running ninja action manga Naruto will end its serialization for 15 years on the magazine's 50th issue to be published in Japan on November 10. It means that the manga only has five episodes left.

The manga ends in Volume 50 of Shonen Jump. That is the OFFICIAL date that has been posted on EVERY Shonen Jump site. That will make the release date for manga sites November 6th, November 10th for the official release. So unless there is a double chapter in volume 50 then Naruto will end at 699. As far as the 5 week thing on the artwork, the manga comes out on Monday, so it will still technically be the beginning of the 5th week when it ends. This is not false info, it is official info..It ends in VOLUME 50...We get volume 47 this week..That leaves 3 chapters until the end.

Thank you, that's definitely what they did, they were counting this week in the 5 weeks. I've never counted like that it never even crossed my mind, it's not supposed to be done that way, if you say 5 weeks you're not supposed to count the week you're in, but that's definitely what they did. Makes sense now.

That's the only explanation? How does this one sound? Because the magazines exist in physical paper form, they have to be printed and shipped out to all of the stores in time for all of them to be able to put them on the shelves on release day, so the boxes of magazines sit around in the store until that time.

Some retailers in some areas don't give a sh*t about release dates and a scanalator is friendly enough with a store owner or employee who is able to covertly pass them copies of unreleased issues.

There actually is no such system for people to get copies a week earlier than everyone else by special subscription.

So we were all right basically, it ends November 10th, but it ends on chapter 700 like I thought. Yay for double chapter in issue 50, and yay for a full color last chapter.
