when the Naruto series finishes it ends with Jiraiya closing the book which told the story of Naruto, just like when he fought Pain he had a flashback of when he told his story to Minato and Kushina.

What if he is reading this story to a young Naruto, who still is with his family and his close friends

if anything the final battle between saauke and Naruto should be with them getting power UPS so saauke gets second sharinnegan and Naruto gets a new cloak (from hamura or whatever) and then saauke should absorb kaguya to get a third sharinnegan and a new cloak. Naruto absorbs more chakra from nature abs it takes from there. Not an ending but a final battle
