Naruto didn't ignore, overlook, or cover up anything.

A certain fan base has been saying that Naruto is overlooking or covering up a certain travesty (the Uchiha massacre). However, those people are dead wrong! The fact of the matter is:

Naruto isn't covering up jack! There is nothing more to cover up now that all of the direct and indirect perpetrators of the massacre have been killed off (several of them by the last pure Uchiha himself). Justice has been served.

The issue is dealt with and it now no longer exists.

What's more, it was never Naruto's problem to deal with in the first place. Naruto was 8 when the massacre happened, and by the time he became hokage, both the Uchiha clan and all of the perpetrators had been dead for around 20 years.

Now if you don't mind, Naruto now has more pressing issues to deal with such as Otsutsuki threats, orphan clones, and a fat cannibal on the lose who is trying to unleash criminals from the Hozuki prison. Nobody has time to focus solely on fossils of the past. Deal with it.

If you're referring to sasuke's intel being classified, it is probably classified so the enemy can't gather intel on him since he is doing solo missions outside the leaf. I bet all Anbu's information is classified as well. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the massacre to sarada already. I would of thought sarada finding about her clan would be trauma enough to awaken her sharingan. That's what I wanted to happen, at least. Sorry if I'm off topic >_>

Why would ue tell Sakura ? And what is to say he didn't ?
The real question is does telling anybody that konoha and the 2nd Hokage Nazirama is evil, that the 3rd and Danzo are just as bad serve any purpose and benefit to konoha as a village.

You would have a point if the mistake in question was some common thing, or some easy mistake for a government to make.

However, we are talking about a genocide here. That is not something that is so common and easy that future generations would automatically most definitely resort to it.

Genocide is so extreme that if a travesty like this happens again, it will have nothing to do with the Uchiha situation, and no amount of historical warning will prevent it.

I'll admit that I haven't read Itachi shinden. However, here's the thing:

Such persecution and alienation requires an original leader or set of leaders to begin such persecution. In the case of the Uchiha massacre, Tobirama was that original leader, and then Hiruzen's cabinet (mainly Danzou) took the reigns. However, all of those leaders are long since dead, and the current leaders of Konoha operate using their own minds.

If such a travesty were to happen again (now or in the future), the leaders' minds would already be resolved to go through with it for their own reasons. They'd treat this new incident as a completely different circumstance from the Uchiha incident, and ultimately the knowledge of the Uchiha incident wouldn't even come into play with regards to preventing this new situation.

At best, I'd agree that future Konoha leaders should be aware of situations like the Uchihas. This way, future leaders can avoid doing stuff like sectioning off a clan to the outskirts of the village or blaming them for an attack without sufficient evidence. However, revealing everything to the public would do more harm than good.

Nobody who is currently alive would actually benefit from revealing this stuff to the public. Meanwhile, the ensuing chaos would get in the way of dire matters such as aliens invading and trying to suck the world dry of chakara, or such as crazy people like Shin trying to rekindle war and conflict.

Covering up a genocide is never right. Arguing that it shouldn't be released because it will do nothing is an oxymoron. No one that fears a repercussion from telling the truth will withhold said truth. If the massacre were so easy to get over, it wouldn't have been hidden from the beginning, intended to be hidden forever.

Konoha used the Uchiha up and threw them away like trash. No one is arguing that the village is destroyed, but if revealing the truth does nothing then why not reveal it? It shouldn't bother anything right? A truth that vile would destroy many things. If I were Naruto, I'd never want to be the Hokage of a bunch of spoiled cretins who segregated the founding clan of the village and treated a little kid like shit, knowing the kid wasn't actually the nine-tails. Konoha is a village of garbage.
