I agree 100% as a Naruto fan myself. That scene was really well done no matter what they say (Naruto is a crybaby etc).A moment of self doubt and him losing hope adds more to his character and makes him realistic, thats why he has his friends(Sasuke this time around) to help him get back on his feet and snap out of it.You cant do everything alone no matter how powerful you are.
Exactly, something Itachi taught Naruto. Minato had Kushina, Itachi failed because he tried to shoulder everything on his own.

Do u realized that is all about 'gene'.
In the past & current chapters, 'yin' Kurama taunt Minato about his 'failure';
And also he was taunt by Obito & Tobirama.
Like Father like Son. (Kurama)
Sasuke is different. He remain calm and cool, as of this current chapters.
Indirectly trained by Itachi, that show how Sasuke had gone far and beyond.
As for Naruto, he always loose control (in the beginning).
As always Naruto, he need to be slap to be awake. Day dreamer.
Kishi had made both a good pair.
Thus Naruto cannot just fight alone, as what Itachi told him.
........Note: i am just Naruto Manga reader, and fan. Character = Kurama (cute look)....

Though not for long. It was clear that as Naruto was crying it was because he began to lose hope. It's completely understandable, Obito is OP af and his power is overwhelming the alliance. Naruto is witnessing a bunch of shinobi dying just by the touch of a branch, and on top of that he just got his chakra sucked out. So some doubt is gonna be there, it's human nature (just like the Heat in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals before Ray Allen hit that EPIC ASS F***KN SHOT OMFG!!! I still fanboy over that). Anyways Sasuke noticed this and decided to take action while taunting Naruto at the same time. But I think that this was Sasuke's own way of saying to Naruto that not all hope is lost and not to give up. IDK why SOME (not all), but yeah SOME Naruto fanboys get so offeneded when people say Naruto gave up. When they see people say that they're so quick to call whoever stated it a butthurt Sasuke fanboy. But I think it was great for the character development of both Naruto and Sasuke

People try to belittle their friendship/rivalry but I think Kishi did a fantastic job with it. I like the fact that their friendship wasn't all in your face and annoying like Shikamaru and Choji. It's much more deeper (that's what she said) and complicated than that. And even though I HATED last chapter, I enjoyed that Naruto Sasuke bit. Time for Kakashi to return and Sakura to get some more action for the TRUE Team 7 reunion.
Agreed! Team 7 should work together again for real this time! Not just standing next to each other and talking big. In the end the only ones fighting were Sasuke and Naruto! Give Sakura and Kakashi some credit would ya please Kishi! Anyways I liked that part about Sasuke encouraging Naruto in his own way too!! I seriously missed that! :yayy:

Maybe naruto just gave up, or maybe he was just shocked at the death madara caused. It honestly could be either easily.

Its my OPINION, that naruto was devastated at the death and destruction he just witnessed and was loseing hope, at succeeding. (sorta like the 5 kages vs madara. They didnt give up, but they began to feel it was hopeless to win.)

I'm sure he listened to Hashirama, the first Hokage. He was close to giving up, seen by the past Obito speeches, but didn't quite reach that point yet.

He had the mindset for a second, but never actually committed thanks to Hashirama's speech, and obviously Sasuke.

One of the bests impressions on the forums about that moment. Yes, I believe that Naruto momentarily gave up, in the sense that a true hero must fall sometimes, and show the guts to continue and stand up after this fall. Sasuke was a great help in terms of morale.

Thanks man. Yeah I think we're gonna get a lot more interaction from these, and possibly Sasuke showing his worth to the Shinobi Alliance (but I doubt it)

Hmmmmm, kind of.

I would say its more like he was in a hair line from giving up but not quite there. It was a very powerful and emotional moment.

This kind of further establishes Obito as the main villain as he is the only enemy to bring Naruto not once but twice to the absolute brink of giving up.

I don't think he gave up, he wasn't afraid to fight juubito. He was pissed, because he was thinking what if! what if i fight and win but all these people die or i could stop fighting and they will all live, just inside a genjutsu. He then remembered the sasuke incident when he wanted to call out, should have called out but didn't, he didn't act and look what happened. So in the end he decides to act, he flips juubitos words around, because he doesn't want the regret of doing nothing, of thinking "I should have". He didn't give up, he was deciding what was the lesser of 2 evils, what was the best way to win and he decided to go. Unlike juubito, naruto lives with the pain of losing people he cares about, how many has he lost so far, how much pain has he gone thru and it hasn't changed him. Juubito lost some girl who didn't even like him, but is sooo weak that he cant stand the pain of 1 person dying, so he's willing to destroy the world and hide in his genjutsu lie so he won't feel the pain. Nope naruto didn't quit, juubito did

Yeah I agree Obito is such an EPIC character, I can't wait to see him revealed in the anime. He better have a great death like Kisame or Jiraiya.

He didn't give up. Just because he was crying didn't mean he was giving up.

He was thinking about everything that had happened to him in his life, and it was hurting him to see everyone else give up. He inspired everyone else to not give up, because he knows how painful regret can be.

And then he brought motivation back to the whole alliance. Dat Naruto.
This ^^^^^
Yes true that Naruto was on the verge of losing hope but like he always says, he still have friends (here Sasuke) to motivate him. Sasuke knows how Naruto will react to his words. Naruto regained his hope. But that wasn't enough here. Somehow he shared his feeling with everyone including Sasuke, Oro, Kages, Hokages. That was a great impact on the SA. Both Naruto and Sasuke shares to credit in the last chapter 647
