Naruto destined to allow the village to be destroyed?

Here's the difference between Naruto and Hashirama which is very relevant to the topic. If someone threatens to destroy or destroys the village, Hashirama would do what's best for the village, to protect it and it's longevity where as Naruto on the other hand selfishly does what he thinks is best to heal the situation and voice an opinion.

Contrary to popular belief, Naruto would not outright kill someone for being a threat to the village. All he would do is spar and try to persuade them to do differently. Believe you me, they could make countless attempt's but Naruto would never eradicate the problem, he'd just have the same approach and that's the easiest way to get killed. It's always the case that someone external has to say to him what should be done.

What exactly was kishimoto trying to do here? The Story of Naruto should have been about how Naruto developed himself into achieving his dream of being hokage (at least one of the best) and that's the one thing he never did.

You are right in sense. Naruto has not done anything radically new compared to other Hokages to be the best Hokage. The situation demanded and the villages are not waging war now.

Naruto from Kishi's world has saved the world and had a good happy ending. That is what matter. Anything else is just fanfic and not valid.

I think Sasuke would have made for a better hokage than Naruto IMO.
