I started this a long..long time ago. I was working on other projects and other responsibilities so yeah there are some major inconsistencies i'm sticking with. LOL. This takes place after the end of the main Naruto series but since I started it so long ago I don't have the new characters. So sorry there isn't Boruto, Sarada etc. Yep Guy is not crippled in this ff and basically anything else new like that may or may not be in this ff. I don't think anyone will have a problem since this is a "fanfic" but I thought I would just put this out there for the person who would get confused from such a situation. Some aspects of the manga might be used since I am only 3 chapters in(such as certain characters who died might not be put in even if I planned to put them in earlier), but overall I will stick with my original characters that I planned to put in the series to keep my story consistent with itself. Again I don't think it will be a huge problem but I wanted to make a note of it.

Tsunade and Sakura gazed upon Isao who was now asleep. His spontaneous release of energy lasted for only 4 minutes, but it seemed like hours before it was all over. He looked so peaceful in contrast to the tears that ran down his cheeks. Not even Tsunade could figure out what caused these episodes; however, she knew nothing good could come from it. Sakara was disheartened to see what appeared to be a young Hyuga confined in solitude. He has been like this for the past 3 years. He possessed no friends, and even some of the younger ninja's have never heard of his existence. To be fair Isao was not being kept a secret from society, but he was definitely being isolated.

Sakura: Are we….doing-

Tsunade: It can’t be helped. I don’t like this anymore than you do; however, do you remember when Isao’s Byakugan first turned blue?

Sakura: Yes….everyone he came in contact with began convulsing. It was as if they lost all sense of self. Many people who came in contact with him from 3 years ago are still in the hospital today. What’s even stranger is that they all shared the same symptoms of permanent blindness and the inability to talk.

Tsuande: Exactly, similarly, Isao has never spoken since he was born. If it weren’t for Kakashi Isao would be-

Kakashi: What about me?

Sakura: GAAAAAAAHHHHH! WHAT THE HELL KAKASHI!? KNOCK FIRST!

Kakashi: I did. Anyway, how is Isao? Have you made any progress?

Tsuande: Even after 3 years I am sorry to say that absolutely zero progress has been made. If we can't find a solution we will have to become more aggressive with the tests. I don't want it to come to that.

Kakashi: Neither do I. Your effort is much appreciated. Oh, yeah I almost got sidetracked.

Sakura: When are you ever not “sidetracked”?

Kakashi: That is a good question, but I came here to see you Sakura.

Sakura: Me?

Kakashi: Your son lost a fight and is in a comatose state. You should go check on him.

Sakura: Oh okay thanks for letting me know.........,WHAT!? HOW ARE YOU SAYING THAT SO CALM!? MY SON IS DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????

Kakashi: No he is comatose-

Sakura: KOJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! I'M COMING!!!

Quicker than a flash of lightning, Sakura brushed past Kakashi and Tsunade and bolted outside. Tsunade just looked down in embarrassment while Kakashi had his usual jovial attitude.

Tsunade: Koji lost huh? Who beat him?

Kakashi: I don’t know.

Tsunade: I don’t understand. How do you not know who beat him. Were we invaded?

Kakashi:No, It was just a kid Sasuke found floating in our river. He doesn’t seem to have any orgins in-, never mind. I can
discuss these issues when they become important. Please give these to Isao when you get the chance. I am certain they will cheer him up.

Kakashi handed over a couple of sketch pads and a letter from his older brother Iden. Tsunade nodded and Kakashi left after pausing for just a few seconds to think about the young Hyuuga.

Tsunade: You know Kakashi; you have become a lot more relaxed even for your standards ever since becoming Hokage....I'm almost certain it shouldn't work like that.

Kakashi: Life is but a dream and I choose not to wake up.

Tsunade: I just don't understand you sometimes. Anyways, thank you for the gifts. Isao will enjoy these.

Kakashi: No problem, but I can’t help but feel a premonition. As if something is working behind the scenes. Maybe I am just getting old and senile…

Sasuke sat in a chair across from his son who lay unconscious in the Konoha hospital. Suddenly a crowd of people burst through the door. They were all yelling and talking at once, so Sasuke couldn’t understand what they were saying. In the blink of an eye Naruto appeared before Sasuke with tears in his eyes. He couldn’t hear what Naruto said but he saw the words “sorry” form on his lips. Without warning Naruto sent a Rasengan right through his chest and then-

Sasuke: *wakes up panting* A….another dream. When did I fall asleep?

Sasuke looked around as if someone was watching him and then he placed his head in his hands. Ever since he returned to Konoha it has been anything but peaceful. At times Sasuke could not even distinguish the dream world from reality as they all meshed into a blur of tragedy, betrayal and atonement. Under the sun his thoughts poisoned him, and during sleep his dreams destroyed him. Before he could get further lost in thought he could hear something faint but approaching the hospital.

Koji…Koji……………..Kojiiiii…………KOJIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Sasuke nearly fell out of his seat when the doors flung off their hinges. Sakura was already embracing the unconscious Koji before Sasuke could even gather himself.

Sasuke: Sakura…

Sakura: Sasuke.

Sasuke: Sakura, I can explain-

Sakura: You idiot! You take our only son on some silly mission and now he can’t even wake up! How can you explain this!

Sasuke: Sakura-

Sakura: Sasuke if he doesn’t wake up you’re dead!

Shino entered the room and knocked on an imaginary door for Sakura already blew the actual doors to kingdom come. He observed Sasuke and Sakura argue for a bit, but he just couldn't bear the awkwardness. He cleared his throat and began to speak.

Shino: Well I would knock, but someone apparently remodeled the entrance. *looks at Sakura*

Sakura: Not now Shino. Why are you here and…who is that kid with you? I've never seen him before. He looks like a well behaved little kid. He must be shy.

Shino: This is Ryuzin…..he came to apologize

Ryuzin: No I didn’t! You guys just dragged me-

Shino: He feels really awful for what he did to Koji.

Ryuzin: Are you windbags even listening!?

Sakura: (I knew he was the devil's incarnate!) You….You…YOU…YOU DID THIS! THE TIME FOR RETRIBUTION IS NOW!

Shino calmly pulled Ryuzin closer to him as Sakura unleashed a ferocious punch. Her momentum carried her outside. Shino and Ryuzin looked on at the raging bull that was Sakura as she blindly destroyed an abandoned house (that was for sale) with a single punch.

Ryuzin: Why are you people so horrible!? This must be some sort of nightmare, I accidently stepped into hell. Yeah that is definitely it. I’m sorry! I really mean it too! I’m really sorry!

Shino: Well…I don’t think its going to work now. You are either going to die….or…die in horrible fashion.

Ryuzin: WHAT!? Aren’t any of you going to help me?!

Sasuke:…..(As long as her attention is on him maybe I can get off easy.)

Shino:…….(I don’t want to be this kid’s foster parent. Maybe if Sakura accidently kills him…I can get off easy.)

Sakura: RYUZIN!

Ryuzin backed away while Sakura inched forward with a demonic like aura. Throughout his short time in Konoha he has made enemies of several people. (Sidenote: The total count of people who have tried to kill him now totals to 4. He counts Shino as someone who attempted to murder him. He considers Shino so creepy that his existence causes people to die. ) With one more enemy bearing down upon him, his attempts to apologize and beg for his life fell on deaf ears. With nowhere to escape he accidently bumped into Koji just before Sakura was going to send him to meet his maker. Immediately afterward Koji shifted a bit in his bed and then sat up. He rubbed his eyes to catch his mom in what would soon be a very famous crime scene.

Koji:…..Mom…why is steam coming out of your ears? Or am I stil dreaming?

Sakura completely changed in a matter of milliseconds as she quickly shoved Ryuzin out of the way and nearly through a wall by accident. She began to rant like any overprotective mother whose son woke up from a coma. It came to a point that no one could even understand what she was saying….unless of course….they were also overprotective mothers. Sasuke smiled for a quick moment and then reverted back to his usual reserved self.

Sasuke: Koji…

Shino:…Dammit…

Sasuke: Hmm? You say something Shino?

Shino: Er..yea I’m glad Koji is alright. (Ryuzin was so close to getting punched. Seriously why didn't Kakashi put him in the orphanage)

Ryuzin: Phew that was close. All’s well that end’s well right “DAD”. *looks at shino*

Shino: Never call me that….unless you wish to be a host for parasitic insects that will devour your organs.

Ryuzin:…Ok I’m sorry.

Koji: Dad….I’m sorry I lost. I really tried.

Sasuke:….We will have to train harder so that doesn’t happen again.

Sakura: Sasuke! Is that really all you have to say after all that’s happened?*turns to Koji* Koji! As a medical ninja I forbid you to participate in any strenuous activates the rest of this week!

Sasuke: *sigh* you really do baby him too much.

Koji: But mom! I want to train with Dad!

Sakura: Koji..sweety…are you back talking?

Koji: No ma’am. Sorry Dad but I can’t train for awhile.

Sasuke: I understand there is nothing you can do.

Sasuke walked over to Koji and placed two fingers on Koji’s head after they shared a brief moment where they both chuckled at each other's obvious thoughts of the monster known as Sakura Haruno. They both understood how scary Sakura could be nowadays. Sasuke, Shino and Ryuzin then left the wrecked hospital while Sakura continued to lecture Koji. “Sasuke”, Shino said without looking at Sasuke. He talked low enough so that only Sasuke could hear him.

Sasuke: I know…

Shino: It seemed strange that he would suddenly wake up like that. Conviently, it happened right after Ryuzin touched him. I’m not certain that could be merely coincidence. I’m surprised Sakura didn’t notice it.

Sasuke: Motherly instincts trumps all I guess….

Shino: Did you just make another joke?

Sasuke: Yes….

Shino: I almost laughed. Good one…

Sasuke: Thanks.

Ryuzin: (These guys are actually not that different from each other.)

A messenger bird arrived and landed on Sasuke’s shoulder. He casually took the letter as the bird flew off again. It was signed by Kakashi.

Sasuke: Why doesn’t he just call me?

Shino: Maybe he likes the dramatic suspense of letter opening.

“You’re probably right.” Sasuke said as he scanned the letter. "It is the list of the current teams, and the new ones added." The new teams were marked in red. Sasuke scanned the list of the new teams to see what team his son was on. He assumed this is why he received the letter. He seemed to nod in approval at the list. He had some knowledge of all the children, but he hasn't been paying that much attention of late. His approval would suddenly turn into confusion and anger when he read his own name on the list. “Team 11? Led by Sasuke? What is Kakashi trying to pull here? I never told him that I would start teaching, and he never talked to me about it.”

Sasuke took out what seemed to be a phone and waited for Kakashi to pick up on the other line. After what seemed like hours the only thing Sasuke heard was. “Hello, sorry I can’t come to the phone right now…I’m afraid I got lost on the path of life.”

Sasuke:…Damn you Kakashi. Shino! Come on we are going to see the Hokage again, and bring the brat.

Ryuzin: Say what?

Shino: Why do we have to come? Kakashi only screwed you over.

Ryuzin: I have to agree with the creepy man.

Sasuke:*sigh* I’m asking you as a friend to back me up.

Shino: As a friend? Well then I can’t refuse if you are asking to include me on your journey.

Sasuke:….(He considers this a journey?)

It didn’t take long for Sasuke and company to reach the mansion once again. With any luck the Hokage would actually be here this time. Sasuke burst through the doors to find Kakashi in the office. He appeared to be sleeping; however, Sasuke ignored this fact and began speaking anyway.

Sasuke: Kakashi! What is the meaning of this letter.

Kakashi: *wakes up* huh…oh good morning Sasuke what brings you here?

Shino:The sun is setting....

Sasuke: Kakashi why did you assign me students?!

Kakashi: I assigned you students? Oh….yeah congratulations.

Sasuke: Why are you congratulating me?! I already told you I didn’t want to teach. You didn’t even ask me.

Kakashi: I’m certain you’ll do fine.

Sasuke: Kakashi sensei…you’re not even listening are you?

Kakashi: I’ve heard every word. The truth is I’ve watched you over these past few years. I’ve asked you to become anbu captain, I’ve asked you to become my chief advisor, and I’ve also expressed that I would love for you to start teaching students. Out of all the ninjas I have encountered in my time you are one of the strongest and smartest. Lately, you haven’t looked well. I think interacting with our youth will help you. I’m certain you would rather do this than help teach the academy ninjas with Hinata…….Plus if it comes down to it....you owe me one for pardoning your crimes.

Shino: Damn...checkmate.

Sasuke: …You….Whatever, when do I have to meet them?

Kakashi: Tomorrow, I think you will like them; however, there is something you should know.

Sasuke: What is it? You sound serious.

Kakashi: Surely, you know about the “Konoha 11”

Sasuke: Naruto and Kiba would never shut up about it.

Kakashi: This generation has also earned its own moniker. In these years of peace each nation holds their own chuunin exams for their respective nations. We added a little twist to the usual way of doing things. Certain students who qualify can opt for a test to graduate the academy with the rank of chuunin. Normally the chuunin exam is not attempted until after they have been assigned to a teacher and given the rank genin. This year all of the graduating ninjas decided to opt for the test. This means for the first time since this rule was implemented…all of them were qualified for such a test coming out of the academy. That has never happened before, and that is only half of it.

Sasuke: Really? I didn’t know there was so much hype surrounding this generation.

Shino: Have you been living under a rock this last year? They are labeling this next wave of students “The Greatest Generation.” Even your son is in that generation. I am surprised you didn’t know.

Sasuke: The “Greatest” Generation. Heh….

Kakashi: Normally that would be my reaction as well, but the rumors might have some truth to them. Not too long ago, their chuunin tests were conducted. Every single one of them passed. I’ve never seen anything like it. For the first time since ranks were implemented we will have a class that possesses no genin. The next generation will all graduate this year starting as chuunin. Mind boggling indeed. It is natural for generations to surpass the previous one, but this one….they seem like an anomaly. There might not be a more complete generation of ninjas as a whole than the one that is graduating now. Of course we can't get ahead of ourselves. They need to learn a lot of things. Teamwork will be an especially trying task for a group of so many skilled individuals. They will need good teachers to bring out their potential, or else we will all be wasting their obvious talents.

Ryuzin: (How does this guy see anything with his eyes bandaged up like that?)Wait does that mean I'm part of The Greatest Generation! That's awesome!

Kakashi:.....

Sasuke:......

Shino:....

Random Wooden Chair:.....

Kakashi: I’ll also say this. I personally sat through the tests to evaluate the ninjas. If we didn’t raise our standards to such high levels I am sure 3 of them had an outside shot at making jonin. A long shot but a shot nonetheless. I just remembered...one of your students happens to be the #1 ranked ninja out of that class. Similar to how you were highly thought of back in the day. The number one student of the greatest generation can’t have just any teacher can they? So will you do it?

Ryuzin: Hey, you guys are ignoring me.

Sasuke: It’s not like I have much of a choice but to go along with your plan. While we are speaking of students…why is this kid on my team? I don't like him.

Ryuzin: Wait, what!? Why do I have to be with this weirdo? I don't like him either!

Kakashi: I just thought you guys had great chemistry. It’s too late to change the teams now, so I’m sure you will sort out your differences. Now if you don’t mind…I’m going back to sleep.

Sasuke: Kakashi…Kakashi? Hey I'm not done.

Shino: It’s too late. He is already asleep.

Sasuke: *sigh* well Ryuzin…I guess I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll send messages to the others. Ryuzin meet me by the river where I found you. You should at least know where that is.

Ryuzin: Ugh, fine. I guess I’ll be there.

Sasuke: Don’t be late.

With those words Sasuke left the Hokage office; however, he wouldn’t be heading home that night. This is something that happened often in the last few years. Nobody, not even Sakura, knew his whereabouts. Shino and Ryuzin also left leaving Kakashi all by himself. Naruto entered the room. He gazed at Kakashi and smiled.

Naruto: I know you are not sleeping sensei.

Kakashi: Oh, Naruto it’s you. Did you see Sasuke on your way here?

Naruto: No, so he already came here? How did he take it?

Kakashi: Better than I thought. Even though we are past the days when we were team 7, I can’t help but feel like I had to do something to help him. Sasuke hasn’t been integrating back into the Leaf as well as I would have hoped.

Naruto: At least he isn’t trying to kill us anymore. Progress right?

Kakashi: Actually, if he heard that he would probably kill you. So do you have my report?

Naruto: Yeah I went to area 91 where the disturbance was. Something is definitely going on there just as you and
Shikamaru predicted. I’m shocked no one has ever noticed this before.

Kakashi: We will monitor it. How is the project DIVE coming along. Has Shikamaru Jr made a breakthrough?

Naruto: You know he hates that nickname. Anyway he has finished around 4% of the project.

Kakashi: Considering what I asked of him that is amazing. Until we get more info and greater progress keep this between us. I'm feeling uneasy but I don't want everyone to panic.

Naruto: If you have a bad feeling then that can't be good. Your hunches are usually right.

Kakashi: For the world's sake I hope I am wrong.

PREVIEW: Next Chapter we get to meet "The Greatest Generation" and their teachers. We find out who was ranked number one in such a generation. Plus, the first team with 2 girls (teacher excluded) makes its debut!
