I agree with you but we need to question why Gaara became Kazekage. He killed more people than Sasuke, including illegally killing people outside to the rules of the chuunin exams. He also helped fuel the war between Konoha and Suna. I'm not saying that Sasuke should be Hokage, I'm asking why Gaara became Kazekage, (and Gaara's my second favorite character)

The council let he become Kazekage so they could keep a clear eye on him, with him being out in the open.(plus his dad was Kazekage)

Sasuke isn't even a candidate. He stands no chance of getting the position unless Naruto outright gives it to him like Hashirama tried with Madara.

Gaara never deserted his village. Sasuke did.
Gaara never plotted to kill Sunagakure officials. Sasuke did.
Gaara never plotted to destroy Suna. Sasuke plotted to destroy Konoha.

The only Sunagakure shinobi Gaara killed were those that came after him.

Foreshadowed? firstly gaara doesn't know anything about sasuke, that's why he sees naruto as the best hokage candidate. Next kakashi doesn't know what sasuke plans to do next and he doesn't have to explain himself to him either. Finally tobirama just sees hashirama in naruto. Naruto is an excellent candidate and he has recognition. Sasuke doesn't get recognition because no one knows what sasuke's motives are.

Funny how sasuke's one-liner 44 chapters ago is still making people so butthurt hahaha man I love Kishimoto. Stay mad sasuke hatetards

is it me or has the manga really been poining at Naruto being Hokage???? Not too long ago, Gaara said "hey Naruto let be allies when this is all over" which hinted that Naruto was going to be hokage since it would be his decision to be allies or not. naruto himself even stated that He would be allies with Gaara. Then kakashi this past chapter basically rode Naruto's **** and said he surpassed all the hokage and even was the hero now. before this, it was said over and over again how Naruto was going to be hokage and it became even mroe apparent when Tobirama himself said that Naruto could be a better hokage or ninja than Hashi.....

Why is Sasuke getting No acknowledgment. Doesnt he want to be hokage too? Doesnt he deserve a shot? Isnt he equal to Naruto in every way Now? I don's doubt that Naruto is gonna be hokage but the manga should at least acknowledge sasuke and say he had an equal chance. Naruto and Sasuke both favorite characters but the **** riding for Naruto by manga characters has been massive...

Its kinda stupid Naruto fans even consider this crap. Naruto will become Hokage why do u feel the need to prove this to yourselves? Are u that uncertain?

Gaara has three years to prove himself, to show that he has changed. He has three years to earn their acknowledgement and respect. Even then, in the beginning of shippuden, he is not fully trusted by his people.
And look at sasuke, the only thing he changes is his goal, his attitude remain the same, doesn't care about other people's opinion, doesn't really care about other people's live. How can you trust your live to someone who doesn't care about you?

Kishimoto in one of his interviews when asked whether naruto will be hokage or not said"he must be hokage"... I don't remember which interview though

Well of course, Sasuke has a criminal history, the other Kage won't trust him and his own village won't trust him.

Naming a guy nobody trust Hokage is extremely stupid, that would endanger the entire Alliance.

i think they said they wanted to make him the kazekage so that he will be stuck in the sand village so they can keep an eye on him.

who knows what other motives they had but still it turned out ok. still gaara might have been a killer but he was still not classed as a criminal by any nation

Look at this from the point of view of other characters and not the point of view of the readers. Sasuke was a criminal, and I doubt anybody, with the exception of Team 7 and childhood friends, likes him enough to say he should become Hokage. He'd probably be imprisoned before he could become Hokage. Unless after the war is over, everybody starts recognizing Sasuke as a hero and stops wanting to kill him.

And anyway, everybody knows Naruto will become Hokage. It's been his dream since the very beginning of the series, and was his motivation for becoming a ninja in the first place. He's not just going to give up that title.
