[Discussion] Naruto character progression

So everyone is always complaining about how there is no character progression in naruto except for sasuke and naruto and that all the other ninja like Kiba, Choji, sakura etc.......are just fodder. Well here is something to think/talk about to those people. Have we not seen throughout the whole entire show that a highly skilled shinobi of Jounin level can be made out to be dirt in two seconds by one of the top tier people? It's because the story is focused on a few select shinobi who are of the highest caliber...you just expect all of there friends and all the side/main charcters in the show to all be that strong too? no...that's not how it works. Kishi has done nothing but stay true to practicality and what would only make sense. Not everyone in the leaf village is going to have abilities like s/t jutsu, mangekyou sharingans, and tailed beasts locked within them just as it is the same in any of the ninja villages/ the rest of the naruverse. anyways.../rant over ;]

I agree if all k11 characters stayed on naruto / sasuke's level, then the story would have ended sooner
or at least the villains would lose quicker maybe... but the fillers was for the side characters to get done properly..
however the anime failed at some points, and that really sux

Exactly, its kinda a theme in anime. There is a clear difference between the strength of the main characters and the side characters for a reason.
