Naruto chapters are short!

Is it just me or you guys also feel that kishi makes naruto manga chapter too short.What i mean is that compared to other mangas,naruto manga chapters have an average of 15 or 16 pages,while other mangas have at least 20 pages and their shortest chapters have around 18 or 19 pages.

The reason why im also so fustrated is that we have to wait an entire week just for 15 pages of manga(it hardly takes 15 minuted to read it though).I have seen real manga artists at work so i know that 4 pages a day for them is no big feat.Actually Kishi doesnt even draws the entire manga chapter.He draws the characters and all the important stuff,but most of the background and the other minor things are drawn by the artist that work under him.

What do you guys think of this? Is Kishi just trying to prolong the whole story

Of course he's drawing it out. The length of Naruto chapters varies from week to week depending on what Kishi intends to tell. It's not a big deal.

You do realize that there is more to creating chapters than just drawing it right?

First of all, he needs to make drafts of the new chapter, go to his editor with the drafts, discuss the chapter and only when he gets the okay from his editor, he's allowed to draw the chapter for real. If the editor disagrees, he has to make an entirely new draft of the chapter.

He does also most of the work - his assistents (which he has to pay of his own money I think) only add some background, some shading and some sound effects.
You should be glad he produces a chapter nearly every week. Reading doesn't take much time no, but creating a chapter needs a lot of effort and time.

Also the editor can decide that the chapter is too long and needs to be cut into a smaller piece.

Plus there are mangakas who only post a chapter once a month. Kuroshitsuji is an example of such a manga. I and other fans have to wait an entire month for one chapter but no one has ever complained about the wait. Why? Because we realize it takes a lot of time and complaining about it won't help much.

Also a story creating takes a lot of time too - I write fanfiction, I understand that problem. You can't just rush into things, it's better to have a thought out plot than just rushing in the plot.

I do know that theres more to mangas than just drawing,but im just starting to think that theres room for improvement which needs to filled.I just havent made the thread like the way i pictured it in my head(i made it in a hurry),so it seems like im just complaining like a sploiled brat.

The story of naruto has has already been decided(told by kishi in one of his interviews and it will continue for about 2 years),so he and his editors already know what should be included in the next chapter and the one after that.Its only okay when the chapters are a bit short when there there are color pages,or when kishi is on some other project(for example naruto movies).

You said that he pays his assistants with his own money.Naruto is a globaly accepted manga or comics viewed by millions or more,so you cant except Kishi to have a problem paying.

He doesnt have all the burden on his shoulders,he has a manager who talks with the editors so he has enough time to add at least a couple more pages to the weekly manga.

I dont write fanfiction,even though I am a very good writer with developed linguistic skill so i know where your coming from(im just more comfortable with a pen rather than a keyboard),but like i said,the plot was already been decided a while bask so Kishi already knows how naruto will end.

Im not complaining!!,i just wish if there would be a bit more effort and improvement in the weekly manga,for example 3 or 4 extra pages.Im not saying that there should be 10,15,20 etc pages,im just saying that a few pages would be nice.

Anyway sorry if you thought i was just complaining(and to anyone reading this).

Oh come on dude,it wasnt that bad .There was actually a bit of plot develoment in it and a lot of suspense(last page),but like you said it ended very quickly.Just a few more pages which slightly increases the chapter(even though the plot remains the same.),would be nice.

Okay i actually did use the search bar,and i only found 1 more thread which had a similar topic as mine,but the person who created that thread was just some loser who did nothing but complain without even giving even one logical reason.So there are not a lot of threads like this one

not really!!! this weeks chapter had 15 or 16 pages but no double pages.There have been few important chapter which had larger pages(looks the same size becuse of scans),but there are rare.

These rare chapter have at most around 2 or 3 double pages,but all these chapters are still a bit short(max 17 or 18 pages).I still like them though

He probably is thinking about cliffhangers when he makes such lengths. I hate cliffhangers, but I am guilty of using the same thing in my stories ^^; I can assure you that many readers have threatened me and cursed me out for ending the chapter at a cliffhanger ...
And while the search bar didn't show many results, doesn't mean there hasn't been made many threads like this - most threads just get deleted by the mods and then it doesn't show up on the search bar either. :shrug:
