Its all building to chapter 650,the Will of Naruto was chapter 649 Everybody in the Alliance and the Living and Dead Kages now know that Naruto Uzumaki is The Child of Prophecy the Savior of their World.They are now motivated to Win for Naruto and some people can't stand it so they are just crying a River at Having to see the events that have made Naruto a Man as His 17 birthday comes up.

This battle is just being drawn out way too much, it's getting ridiculous. This chapter is one of many irrelevant chapters that this battle arc has had and I've really lost interest up to this point.

You know that...
a) 649, it was just a builder. Only chapters ending in 0 are the strong ones.
b) Shikamaru was saved, and this is a strong hint for what's coming next. People think this is trivial, but some chapters ago Temari was talking about him to be a good candidate for Hokage, and how he is accepting that he would be just a good advisor... without Naruto, he wouldn't have the motivation to keep on working.
c) Did you see Obito's questioning Naruto? "Is this OK"? Did you realize the meaning behind this question?

Let me get straight. You can see this chapter as a "tis cheese again", but I tell you... I see something big coming in the next one. A BIG TWIST.

thank you hirudora, i agree completely. this chapter just made me super excited for next weeks chapter because i do think a huge twist is coming up and i cannot figure out what (several theories though lol) but shikamaru was saved, everybody is finally not only recognizing narutos strength and determination, but his friends are learning all about naruto and his suffering. this is huge for him and i though the chapter was great, despite no action.

Yes a builder....of things WE ALREADY KNOW. If there's an upcoming twist, we've been given plenty enough of buildup for it and this arc in general is already ruined with these slow chapters of speeches and reiterating things we know in the past.

Yes, I have to accept that there were a lot of things that we knew already (Naruto's past). But try to look at this with some perspective...
It's us manga readers the ones who knows about Naruto's past, but now every single shinobi in the war (Kages included) are learning about him. The effect of these images on their morale and their own reality changed (I think you already know something about the power of words, the power to change realities with your own emotions).
That, and the hints I was mentioning; Shikamaru considering Naruto as his own little brother, the aknowledgement of Konoha to Naruto the tragic hero, and the big Question Obito tell to... Sasuke? Maybe? Why is Naruto creating a family in the war while Sasuke lost everything? "Is this okay"?
My friend... this moment is a huge builder for Naruto vs Sasuke. Obito is possibly trying to pull Sasuke with that question.

Let's start at 300 - Sakura finds Sai's Picture Book, Reads it, Yamato finds Orochimaru lair. Sasuke is introduced.
Chapter 310 - Sauce escapes, Naruto & Sakura cried, Sai starts another mission with Naruto and Sakura
Meh..
Lets see in terms of 50.
350 - Sauce kills Orochimaru, Konoha finds out. Sauce releases Juugo
400 - Tobi tells Sauce the truth about the Uchiha clan
450 - Naruto is deemed the Hero of Konoha, Zetsu tells Tobi Pain is dead, Tobi finds out sauce trolled him
500 - Birth of Naruto explained
550 - Solo King uses his MS to diffuse Edo Tensei - Most powerful genjutsu revealed
600 - Obito Uchiha revealed

so for nearly 600+ chapters Naruto dreamed of being a Kage, [lets even say dream is still on going]
For the whole of the MAIN CHARACTER'S life he wished to be understood and loved
For the MAJORITY OF PART 1, even though saving people, he was still looked at as clumsy idiotic etc etc
and now, the people just don't care for him, they finally UNDERSTAND HIM, and UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER as he is subconsciously fighting towards acheiving Jiraya's dream of peace.
What is basically happening is the physical manifestation of the answer to Pein's question to Naruto on how he would attain peace in the world
yet i see so many people like ahh another feeling chapter, man y'all missing the whole thing from Kishi,
the last few chapters really hit home

Some of you have never ben in a life or death situation,Ask anybody thats ben in combat and they will tell you Yes we had our own flash backs when we feared we were going to die and when we needed to find inspiration to go on. You armchair Quarter backs just don't know what life and death is because you have never ben in that situation. People who face war for real and not a video game were you can pause or hit reset can't ever know what we combat Veterans have gone trow and unless you have we can't explain it to you. It has to be experience to understand it. Thats way we say their no Atheist in Foxholes.

Maybe that's one reason behind Kishimoto slowing the pace too much
