Notice that around Madara's aura,
But Minato supposedly killed Obito the page later
Which stopped Madara's resurrection(with cracks reappearing)
So Obito was really a second about to revive Madara before Minato striked him down. But
So it's not Obito who freed himself from Madara's control. It's Minato the one who stopped the connection between them, and Obito took the opportunity to become Juubi's Jinchuriki, which was his aim from the start when he appeared above it
Before people show Naruto's statement, this is the correct translation by Rei
Naruto didn't say Obito freed himself from Madara's control. He only noticed Madara's control broke(because of Minato), but that Obito's aim from the start was to become Juubi's Jinchuriki
Also, concerning Hashirama, i'd like to point out that according to the same traduction, he was infact expecting Rinnetensei to work, reason why he(and Tobirama) mobilised their clones to attack the "revived" Madara when it would happen
Summary:
1- Madara controlling Obito was about to revive with the Rinne-rebirth
2- Hashirama order Sasuke and Naruto to strike Obito down(to stop the jutsu)
3- But expecting it not to work, he(and Tobirama) sent their clones in order to kill Madara the time he revive himself
4- Minato striked Obito down stopping the jutsu
5- Obito took advantage of this to become Juubi's Jinchuriki which was his aim from the start

, which i believe represent the cracks you see on every Edo. I believe we see them only to show the processus from quiting Edo tensei body to a living corpse. And if you look carefully pages after pages, you'll notice that the cracks were disappearing one after other panels,

, Obito infact was still alive, and he took the opportunity to become Juubi's host by absorbing it(smh) within himself

Madara: Do you plan on attacking me, in case you can't stop Obito in time?... You should know... I won't be stopped by mere clones. (The English translation can't convey the happenings clearly. Madara means Hashirama is expecting Rinne Tensei to work and he'll try to strike Madara down as soon as he's mortal again. Hashi is waiting for the moment Madara is revived to attack him.)
