Nice review! However, I dont think it was Izanami. I think he pulled a genjutsu on him, which explains why we saw Madaras EMS before the slice. And remember how he told Naruto he was the only one who could see through Hashi's wooden clone?

They aren't close in power nor equal. The only reason Madara could fight on par with Hashirama is because he brought Kurama with him. Hashirama didn't use an external power source and he still beat Madara.

Okay, so this chapter left me wondering a few things. First off, it leaves a lot of holes in the story with Madara and Hashirama. What I am wondering about the most right now is what exactly it is that made Madara really leave the hidden leaf village. Madara went on about how there was another interpretation of the stone in the previous chapter, and then he left the hidden leaf to achieve his "real dream". What exactly is it that Madara was/is trying to achieve? I can't believe it's the infinite tsukuyomi, I'm pretty sure that there's more to this. Maybe there's another force at work here.

Another thing bugging me is how Madara survived that battle, but we'll probably get to that soon enough.
