Summary
With the Edo Tensei being cancelled, all the reincarnated
shinobi began to fade into pillars of light. As the battle
between Tobi and Naruto ensues, Naruto charges at him,
stating that his opponents were in front of him as Tobi
contemplates the fact that Kabuto had seemingly failed.
Meanwhile, the five Kage struggle to combat Madara, as as
he is about to deal another blow with his sword, Madara’s
Susanoo suddenly dissipates and he is enveloped in a beam
of light, causing him to wonder what happened to the
summoner.
Back at the cave Itachi uses the last of his consciousness to
show Sasuke his memories of the Uchiha clan massacre,
showing him how he came into possession of Shisui
Uchiha’s Sharingan, Konoha leadership’s decision to move
against the Uchiha clan’s coup d’etat, his meeting with Tobi
and ending with Fugaku and Mikoto’s last words to Itachi.
With the full truth about the massacre revealed, Itachi told
Sasuke that even if Sasuke never forgave him, and no
matter what he decided to do from that point on, he would
love him forever.
My Thoughts
Itachi. Itachi. I can see the name “Itachi” everywhere I go.
Just when I thought “Thank You” was the most touching
chapter in this manga, Kishi delivered us an even more
touching chapter. He’s writing not only a damn great story
but those touching moments are so damn good that it
makes one start crying!!!
We can all agree that Itachi ****ed up. And he even admitted
that himself. He messed Sasuke’s life up to the extreme. He
fed his little brother’s hatred until he could barely remember
what it felt like to be happy. He knows what he did. But the
question is: who ****ed up first? My answer: Those stupid
Elders and the Uchiha clan. Putting the fate of thousands of
people in the hands of a 13 year old boy is a very stupid
idea. Itachi is far more powerful when he was 13 than most
shinobi when they’re 30. However, he was still a ****ing kid.
And you don’t give a kid that kind of decision to make. But
no one truly cared about how that made he feel. The Uchiha
were whining about not having enough political power while
Danzouand the council suspected the Uchiha over the
Kyuubi attacks. They were too busy comparing whose ****
was bigger to give a **** about the consequences of their
bitching.
And then we’re back to Sasuke. Itachi knows what he’s
done; he created a monster. But it’s too late for him to
correct his mistakes. Just as Danzou predicted, Sasuke
wants nothing but revenge. But what did the Elders really
expect when they gave a kid this mission? That everything
would be rosy and happy? Even a genius like Itachi should
not have been given the mission to decide the fate of a
village and a clan. Sasuke won’t forgive Konoha for what
they did for his clan and his beloved brother. Talking to him
won’t change a thing. Itachi has admitted his mistakes; he
showed Sasuke the truth after 8 years of deceit and
heartache. Just before he disappears again, he said “You
don’t have to forgive me” in recognition of this. It’s not that
he doesn’t think Sasuke will forgive him, because Sasuke has
alreadysaid that he has. It’s that he doesn’t think he
deserves forgiveness.
Itachi’s last words reflect his feelings towards Sasuke.
“No matter what you decide to do from now on, I will
always love you.”
Because, no matter what Sasuke does, he’s still Itachi’s
beloved little brother whom Itachi will protect even at the
cost of his own life. This is Itachi’s fundamental character
trait: love. It was love which tore him apart; the love of his
village, and of his little brother, and of his family. They touch
foreheads, he closes the gap between them with the truth
and his love. Can you imagine all the feels when Itachi’s “I
will always love you” gets animated? With dramatic music
and voice acting and all. And the part with his parents… It’s
gonna be heart wrenching!
And we’re back to the chapter, there are still some open
questions regarding Tobi and his role during the massacre,
and how Danzou stole Shisui’s right eye. Someone asked
me how Itachi gained his Mangekyou Sharingan, and I think
that is also a very good question. It was implied a while ago
that in order to obtain Mangekyou Sharingan, one has to
experience emotional trauma from the death of the person
closest to the Sharingan user (the feeling of losing a friend or
family). So watching his best friend falling down the cliff
facing his death is the only cause I could think of.

I think you are wrong. When you grow up in a hostile environment like Itachi did, you mature fast. The reason thirteen year olds are so stupid right now is because or Barney, Sesame Street, and too much of an easy life. Back in the old days when our life expectancy was less than half of what it is now, most people would marry by the age of thirteen. As such, Itachi truly is responsible for his actions. He sided with Danzo rather than Hiruzen, and that brought up a lot of problems. The guilt he feels is well deserved. Though he has earned a lot of my respect by apparently saving the kages, and still telling Sasuke he loves him, despite how he doesn´t deserve it.
