Obito had to be dead.
1. Got the Juubi removed. Any time a bijuu is removed, the host dies. (Uzamaki can live at least a little longer)
2. Used the Rinne Tensei- revived Madara in exchange for his own life
3. BZ stated as long as he was attached to Obito his life would be prolonged. And BZ removed himself.

There's no way he was alive.

I know Gai wasn't dead. But his body was crumbling away, my point was that everyone is most likely going to be A-ok!

I'll admit I could be wrong about Obito since it wasn't explicitly said he was dead, but with the facts I stated from the manga.. There's no way he could've still been alive.
