We know that Kishimoto is inspired by Buddhism .

The bold defenitely means that Naruto is the same person as Ashura Otsutsuki . I love this parallelism .

Indra represents a half moon , while Ashura a full moon . I think this is a interesting symbolism . The meaning of the full moon is that the way of Ashura is the right thing , a full moon = hope , while the path of Indra has flaws .
