they never spent off time together, they never had that mush conversation, so how are they friends, naruto is obsessed with getting his coworker to return back to the job they had. iruka and naruto are friends, but why does naruto think he and sasuke were best friends, they had some mutal respect, but thats it.

naruto misses his parents and when sasuke left it made him remember the abandonment issues he had,

therapist + naruto = less talk no jutsu

O.T. you are partially right . Sasuke never intended to make friends . His only goal was revenge . However life or death situations tend to bring people closer . After their encounter with zabuza , they developed an unspoken bond . However that bond wasnt strong enough to stop sasuke from pursuing his ultimate goal . Killing itachi ! Only when naruto tried to get in his way ( stop him from leaving the leaf ) did it become violent . And even then sasuke spared naruto .

I feel like the friendship they did have began to crumble after Sasuke began feeling jealousy towards Naruto after he noticed how much he progressed. I also feel Naruto went too far with his personal mission of bringing Sasuke back. His friend was a traitor and Tsunsde shouldn't have spared him from being marked a missing-nin in the first place.

I think it started when sasuke saved naruto from haku.They were never enemies to begin with;but were rivals.Sasuke was naruto's inspiration to get stronger and on top of that he promised sakura that he would bring sasuke back.That was why he was willing to go to any lengths to bring his team mate back home U_U

What made them friends besides their encounter with danger is that they both new what it was to be ALONE! this was unspoken however you cant deny that sasuke grew to care for team 7 ! but like i said earlier sasuke wasnt looking for friends . Revenge was the most important thing . ill give you an example why i said your partially right . Sasuke sharingan gave him the advantage over haku ( he could track her speed with the sharingan . But he defended naruto and got hurt ) later kyuubi came out and naruto beat haku . Point is he cared enough to sacrifice his body to save naruto
