One thing came to my mind these days: Naruto and sasuke, their teamwork, putting together their powers to defeat the enemy.

This really ressembles a similar situation I've once seen:

They were brothers and friends, at first. One took a wrong step. They have fought previously. One was evil, whereas the other was protecting people. Now, they join forces once again to stop the enemy that has gotten the legendary power.
The "evil one" though, we are unsrue about his intentions.

This description, you know it fits naruto and sasuke, fighting madara, who know has the juubi's power. And in dmc 3, it also fits dante and vergil's battle with arkham, who had sparda's power.

Those who played devil may cry will understand better the situation. If you think about it, vergil and sauke are somewhat alike.

There's a lot of examples like that though friends who became enemies and fought one another then teamed up to fight a greater and stronger enemy. Take master chief and the arbiter from the halo series.
