I recently reread the manga and i've had this idea for a while. I think the sun(yin) and moon(yang) symbols on their palms essentially allow them to use Creation of All Things. If they work together they can use the actual complete technique, but while seperated they can use half of it. We know that Creation of All Things works by using yin chakra (imagination, spiritual energy) to create physical form from nothingness and then applying yang chakra (vitality, physical energy) to breathe life into the creation. The yin/yang comparison between Sasuke and Naruto had been used a lot, especially since they met the sage and i feel that that really makes it quite obvious. Apart from that, in the latest episode when Naruto made another eye for Kakashi (i highly doubt the sage taught Naruto advanced medical ninjutsu) i felt like my theory was basically confirmed. There was no need to breathe in new life because Kakashi was already alive. Also, Gai's body was damaged so that was why Naruto used his half of it instead of Sasuke. I think if Sasuke had tried to use his version Gai would have just crumbled into ash regardless. Anywho, that's pretty much it. Excuse me for sloppy writing, i'm in a hurry and this is my first post.
P.S: In a final plot twist they revive Neji and he wakes up blind from the Hyuuga Main Family's Sealing Jutsu sealing away his Byakugan XD
P.P.S: Naruto may be able to create new ones though..
Edit: I feel i wasn't quite as clear as i could have been, Sasuke has the ability to breathe life into form and Naruto has the ability to create form from nothingness(well, chakra, but you get the point).
The Sage of the Six Paths was the only one who could use Creation of All Things, so it's also highly logical he'd be the one to pass it on, in the form of his chakra, which allows its use. He divided his chakra into two (yin and yang, to be precise) and gave the yin chakra to Naruto while giving the yang to Sasuke. Furthermore, those symbols on their palms are the points where that chakra is held. Also, possible explanation for the white "sun" mark on Gai after Naruto used his "Creation of Some Things": he actually gave him a portion of the Sage's chakra, however small, so it continues to heal his body. Probably not enough to fully regenerate him but enough to stop him from falling apart.
And please post what you think about this as well! What do you think Sasuke will do with his powers? Do you think any of this this holds any water? Do you have any contradicting opinions? Do you think that i'm spouting absolute nonsense? Can you even prove it? In any case, please do post your thoughts.
