Sasuke and Naruto Power Up Theory
Sasuke
I was kinda having a dilemma wondering what the 9 tomoe Rinnengan actually represents chakra wise and how it could possibly be> than the Rinnengan when the Rinnengan is the Sage's power.
Reasoning
The sharingan is red with 3 tomoe and represents strong yin.
The Rinnengan is purple and supposedly represents a balance between yang and yin.
However the Sharinnengan's a little bit more difficult.
Theory
It is not really expounded upon, but the fact that Sasuke can touch the chakra rods means that he has Rinnengan abilities however Sasuke's chakra is not balanced. Sasuke does possess yang power, but being given the yin power of Hagoromo his yin chakra dwarfs his newly obtained yang chakra. If the sharinnengan is a reflection of Sasuke's chakra that would mean that the sharinnengan is an eye that can utilize yin and yang together, but dominates in yin.
In other words this:

Yin complemented by yang=strongest yin
Naruto
Reasoning
This same statement can be applied to Naruto though I am not sure how his works seeing how he has the bijuu which are yang and yin, still IMO the biggest piece may be yin Kurama :yeah: (kinda figures that yin kurama is Naruto's biggest piece of bijuu chakra)
Theory
Anyway, with yin Kurama and the chakra of the other bijuu Naruto is able enter RSM (calling it Rikudou Sage mode to save time), but tbh I am not sure that is all there is to it. Naruto's body did not change as in when someone becomes the Juubi jinchuuriki. Instead this new mode resembles more of BM. He even has the same circle on his stomach from BM only without the lines or extra ring.
It is my hypothesis that Naruto's new mode is a mixture between Yang BM and RSM. Why yang? Well just as Sasuke is Yin complimented by Yang, I hypothesize that Naruto is Yang complimented by Yin. Sasuke with eyes surpassing the Sage's and Naruto with a body that surpasses the Sage's
IMO, this theory emphasizes that perfect Yin must always have a bit of yang and the perfect Yang must always have a bit of Yin.

and when the perfect yin and the perfect yang are put together they > perfection (the Sage's power)
Well, thats my theory thanks for reading :bye:
