Hello everybody I'm new to the base forums. I've been using base as my source to read the manga now for about a year, and I finally decided to join. Mostly to put my two cents in on the whole "Naruto v. Sasuke" war that always seems to pop here, which I'm going to say right of the bat I thinks it's stupid. I'm not a fan boy of either character and I like them both equally. So here we go.
I see a lot of people on this forum all the time arguing about who is stronger, Naruto or Sasuke? The thing is that they are both equal in strength because they are essentially the sage's power split into two beings. I feel like a lot people missed this point way back when the concept was first introduced. Here
I feel as though it was during this point in the manga when kishimoto had for the most part had an idea as to where he wanted his manga to head and how he wanted it to end. I wasn't around on naruto base forums when this chapter came out but from the moment the concept of the sage having two sons, one possessing his eyes, and one possessing his physical strength I've always had a feeling that it was going to take naruto and sasuke to defeat the final villain who I had thought was gonna be tobi at the time. I'm sure a few others saw this coming as well for awhile.
Anyhow, back on topic, it was even stated in the manga several chapters later by naruto that if they fought they would both die, which I feel was an implication that they both possessed power that was on a similar level. Yes, I do feel like there have been small points in the manga when naruto was stronger than sasuke and sasuke was stronger than naruto, but now that we are reaching the end game of naruto and both characters have received what I believe to be their final power up I'm pretty confident that it's safe to say that two are on exact even playing grounds when it comes to power. From the moment the concept of the curse of hatred was introduced in this manga to the sage having two sons the direction that this manga was heading in was painfully obvious, especially with naruto and sasuke being the two main characters of this series. Which while I'm on that note, I don't care what anyone says sasuke is just as much of a main character as naruto is with as much development that he has received and his role in this manga. All I'm trying to say at this point to both sasuke and naruto fanboys/girls alike is to open your eyes and see the bigger picture beyond them fighting and whose stronger. At this point in the manga if you're still stuck on the whose better than who phase I can guarantee you will probably hate how it all ends. Because this manga will not end with naruto standing over sasuke's beat up defeated body or visa versa. It's going to end with them defeating Madara and effectively after ending the cures of hatred that has plagued the narutoverse of war and hatred up to this point in the series. Really at this point if you're really stuck in that whole who's better than who phase it should only legitimately be based on who's personally you prefer more, because though they don't possess the exact same techniques and ways of using their power, it's the same in effectiveness and strength, and branches from the exact same source, the sage.
