There is simply not enough chapters left for them to fight. The movie comes out on dec 6 leaving a possibility of 8 chapters at the very most not including breaks. Eight chapters is not enough for the biggest fight of the manga. Hell vote naruto vs sasuke went from chaoter 217 to 233. Also most major fights last more then ten chapters. There's just not enough time for a full battle unless the movie will hold spoilers which I doubt it will.

Dude, nowhere does it say that this movie is going to be the end of the manga. Just because it is called "The Last" means nothing. The manga probably isn't ending anytime soon.

-we learned what is needed to dispel infinite tsukyiomi
-we learned that Naruto is to be the "gathering" place for the tailed beasts
-We learned what Sasuke said to the sage while he was in "limbo"
-Sasuke announced his plans to his old team
-He revealed that he has rinnegan powers
-he declared war on Naruto

Now if as you claim, 8 chapters are left, there is defintely a lot of time left to have a single fight and closure if all those things could happen in one chapter

I was just about to make a thread about this very thing. They won't fight and it isnt only because there are very chapters left it's also because naruto has resolved to break the Ashura Vs. Indra cycle. Chances are sasuke will be the one throwing the punches and naruto will try to evade them while trying to talk him down.

this makes no sense sasuke is to powerful for naruto to even think of holding back. Naruto will break the cycle by defeating sasuke and not killing him. This fight will give sasuke the last push he needs to go full circle and becoming good. If you dont believe they will fight. Make a bet on it

Yep, and I stand by my statement. Base don previous cycles ashura and indra have ended up fighting naruto said he's determined to break the cycle ergo at most it may be a 3-4 chapter fight and even that's iffy. Knowing naruto he knows he can't match sasuke at this point and has openly admitted it. Chances are naruto will have to beat sasuke through unconventional means aka talking.
