With the latest chapter, there seems to be an awful lot of discussion on whether or not Sasuke will stick with this new path, whether he'll make amends with Naruto, will they ever have their final fight, etc.

And I just wanted to point out a bit of Kishi's style that I've noticed. He loves parallelism. You can see it in so many places, its obvious. Naruto and Sasuke are basically Hashirama and Madara, Kakashi and Obito, etc etc. ( albeit not exactly, but I'm sure you all know what I'm getting at)

Now, what did we just finish reading the last few weeks? The history of Hashirama and Madara. In which they were friends, fought, made up, and ended with Madara turning his back once again, which of course ended up with one last fight at the Final Valley.

I believe this is what Kishi will do. Sasuke will make amends with Naruto, and the two will be friends again (much like how Madara trusted Hashirama after Izuna's death). The Juubi, Madara, and Obito will be defeated.

Next, I truly think Orochimaru will end up being the main villian again. I cant explain why, its more of a hunch, and it will bring things full circle like they were in Part 1. That doesnt really matter to my points though. During this time, Sasuke and Naruto will be friends for a while. This, I think, is essential because (in my opinion) Kishi BARLEY emphasized the bond Naruto and Sasuke have. After a couple years, you'd think Naruto would give up on Sasuke because the bond wasn't really established as a "brother bond" that well in Part 1. Maybe it was, I dont think so, but it sure wouldnt hurt to build their friendship more so that the bond is more recent than a couple of 12 year-olds that were on a team.

And now, just as Madara left the village, Sasuke will (for some reason or other) leave the village again. And Naruto will, of course, chase again. Sasuke, at this point will be the main antagonist. No Akatsuki, no Oro, no Root, no other countries; just Naruto vs Sasuke, the way it should end. Naruto and Sasuke will have the final fight we've been promised and thats the only final fight I believe will do this series justice. How that fight ends, I cant say.

In conclusion, Sasuke will be good for now, strengthen the bond he has with Naruto, leave again like Madara, and then he can have his fight with Naruto at the very end.
This is the only way I can see that involves Sasuke helping the Alliance and still having the final fight. only big flaw I can think of is I remember Kishi mentioning the end of the series soon, and I dont know if that fits in his time frame. A lot of people have said they beleived the War is the last arc.

Thoughts, feedback, etc. All appreciated.

Personally, I believe fighting Naruto doesn't stop Sasuke from preserving his brothers wishes, you are entitled to your own prediction, but I will wait for Kishi's conclusion before discussing it further. :D

Theres only two ways this ends. Sasuke turns evil again and Naruto gives him a beating at the valley of the end as you said.
Or he turns good but can't return to the village for obvious reasons and goes off with Oro and the rest to do good and fight evil from the shadows.

That would kind of be lame for him to come back after so many chapters to just leave again
Well, thats what happened with Madara. But what was really lame was being practically promised a final fight between Naruto and Sasuke again, only to have Sasuke switch sides again. (Dont get me wrong, I'd love to see Sasuke join the alliance but theres still the fight issue)

One fact, naruto won't beat sasuke if they do fight, good friend fight or evil death fight, i personally think its going to be a friendly fight just like in the intro of DBZT:

It is going to be a final battle but we all know kishi, it won't be to the death like everyone think it is, nor is it going to be naruto beating sasuke (naruto fanboys) :sy:

YES YES YESSS! Lord Orochimaru will rise AGAIN! AHAHAHAA cough cough excuse me sorry about that.
jk Anyways great observation makes sense and i agree with you.

I dont think and really really hope that the war arc isn't the end of Naruto. i personally believe that Orochimaru will be the main villain again when its all said and done and Naruto and Sasuke will have one last fight to end it. Just hope its not one of those history is repeating itself kind of endings i think you guys know what I mean.

The whole point of their rivalry is to surpass the last generation (Or more specifically, Hashirama and Madara's) in both power and ideals. If Sasuke were to go mad again he would just be going against his brother's will (Which he firmly stands by and is completely different than the view Izuna shared in contrast to Madara) and he would just end up like another Madara. If you want parallelism here's one: Madara at first was fighting against Hashi. His brother's last wishes/his will was to not team with the Senju and create the village. At first he held true and continued fighting them, until he went against his brother's will and formed a truce with the Senju. In the end he re-adopted that ideal and said he couldn't cooperate with the Senju. Sasuke on the other hand was flipped. He had immense hatred for his brother only to find out he loved him more than anything. Itachi's will was to continue to protect Konoha. For the better part of 250 chapters he has been completely against it. But this recently revelation has Sasuke adopting his brother's ideology. If anything, it will be completely redundant for him to become "evil" again because it will over lap the "Brother's wishes" parallel between him and Madara, Izuna and Itachi. People already say Sasuke is easily manipulated and his character changes too much... This would be worse for his character IMO.

Very good points, I agree. I see the redundancy I made but with this new chapter, it doesn't seem like a Naruto v Sasuke fight will happen unless he turns again. And a friendly spar wouldn't cut it, if they arent serious, well then its hardly a fight. And, IMO, the fight has to happen. I'll be very disappointed if it doesnt, as would many others.

so yes, sasuke turning evil would be bad for the character. Not to mention the fact that Kishi already made the character very easily influenced, another occasion would be more than overkill. But by not integrating the final fight, i think would a huge step backward for the character development between naruto and sasuke. I'm curious how Kishi will approach this.

That's true, but I also had a thought about that.

The vast majority of Konoha don't know of the truth of the Uchiha massacre. They view Itachi as a criminal. I have a feeling Sasuke will return after the war but will be easily irked by the rumors about Itachi and about him being a criminal. Like Madara (This parallel can apply) he will leave the village because he feels unwanted. Naruto will plead for Sasuke to stay but he'll leave, and say he still wants to see who is the stronger of the two.

They have their fight in their primes, Naruto wins and brings him back to the village. Some subtle details are released to the rest of Konoha to rid them of their ignorance towards the Uchiha and then Sasuke feels accepted again.
