A lot of people have been talking about Naruto and Sasuke power ups so I thought I would put out my theory as well.
Naruto
Now Naruto gained what Madara referred to as 'the senjutsu of the six paths'. Naruto's power up in my eyes is that his Bijuu and Senjutsu power became one. when the chakra of the nine tailed beast become one, it becomes the juubi's chakra which is senjutsu chakra.
I personally think that Hagoromo Otsutsuki passed down senjutsu to the toads, snakes and possibly slugs, which is why he knows gamamaru. and they in turn taught others like naruto, hashirama and kabuto. it was after this that he split the juubi's chakra into the nine tailed beats thus losing the power of senjutsu.
Like Madara said naruto power is the 'senjutsu of the six paths' but naruto power was the easy part, now for sasuke as he is probably the one this thread is for.
Sasuke
Now according to Madara, Sasuke awakened the Rinnegan.
However as we all saw, Sasuke's 'Rinnegan' is uniquely different and it looks like the Juubi's eye and also like kaguya's third eye. Now my theory is this. When the eye was first named Hagoromo called it the sharingan.
and then we saw Madara call it the Rinnegan. Byakugan, Sharingan and Rinnegan. I believe there is a reason they are referred to as the three great dojutsu and here is what i think. Now people think that sharingan and the rinnegan are the same coz if the right conditions are met the sharingan eventually becomes the rinnegan so they assume that the rinnegan would take on the sharingan's abilities. I however believe that this is incorrect, i believe that when the sharingan becomes the rinnegan it becomes a completely different eye. the sharingan belongs to the uchiha clan as well as the mangekyo sharingan which is a natural progression from the sharingan. the rinnegan is NOT a natural progression as it requires one obtain an outside power (senju DNA) to awaken it.
The Rinnegan has not been shown to possess the perceptive or illusionary abilities of the sharingan. this is why when obito made his six paths he implanted both a sharingan and a rinnegan in each eye to the combine power of the sharingan's perceptive insight and the rinnegan's shared vision.
Here you can see Naruto and Gyuki referring to the different abilities of the different eyes. Now that said i believe that the Rinnegan CANNOT use the abilities of the sharingan or the Mangekyo sharingan. Now anyone who would argue that would would say "what about madara, he used susanoo while he had the Rinnegan".
Now i also have my own theory about that. Susanoo is different from other MS techniques, unlike the others it requires both MS. Susanoo is formed through the materialisation of the user's chakra, so although it initially needs the MS to awaken it, it doesn't require the MS afterwards, this has been seen on two occasions.
Now back to Sasuke, I believe that his new eye is the combined power of both the sharingan and the rinnegan. While gaining the power of the rinnegan, he also retains the power of his sharingan and MS with the combined power creating new techniques. Now i read a thread earlier about how he might gain other MS powers on top of amaterasu and tsukuyomi like Kamui and Kotoamatsukami, and the ability to use izanagi and izanami without losing his eye, and while a possibility, its a bit of a stretch and would make him too op.
However the fact that he has only one eye bothers me but that said lets wait and see what sasuke has to offer. tell me what you think and remember this is only a theory.
