their no ino-shika-cho but the rivalry gives them something more like mad and hash would have if teamed

Good and bad joining forces makes something of greatness.

It actually makes perfect sense. Think about it:

How many missions has each character gone on? Sasuke's done... 7 D rank, 1 C rank, 2 B rank, and 6 A rank missions, all with Naruto and Sakura. That's 16 missions. Most of them life-or-death situations where the only way out is through strategy and cunning. Relying on eachother's strengths while making up for their weaknesses. Those kinds of situations stay with you for life. Also, one actually said their teamwork was perfect. They just remarked about how hard it is for two ninja to match eachother's chakra perfectly for an attack. Which doesn't mean much when you consider all Sasuke had to do was look at how much chakra was in the FRS and then match it accordingly.

Nothing was an asspull. It all makes sense.
