But how do we know which brother the Uzumaki came from? (Hagoromo's sons or Hamura's assumed kids). Distantly related seems like other side of the family tree to me. I don't understand how Uzumaki could come directly from Ashura's Senju clan, seeing as they are two very different clans.

They both share the strong bodies and ashura can only transmigrate into his own descendants just like Indra.
