Naruto 647: The Secret Behind Jugo!
A majority of the alliance has fallen to the Shinju. Bodies are scattered all over the field with their chakra drained completely. Minato, Hiruzen, Tobirama, Naruto, Sasuke, and Jugo all watch from afar as the giant tree begins to sink in it's roots. At the peak the bud begins to give off a luminescent glow. Naruto, severely weakened, rests on his knees. He cannot believe what has just occurred. How everyone was killed so quickly.
Naruto: "W-What just.....happened?"
Tobirama: "The Juubi has sapped the life force of every single ninja here...."
Hiruzen: "Seems that it has the ability to drain chakra from the bodies of humans. It's too dangerous to get close now. We must find a way to stop him."
Minato: "I can't do much. I'll just stay behind with my son."
Sasuke: "I shall go in. You do not know what I know..."
The five of them look up to Sasuke with puzzled looks on their faces. Sasuke does not look back but instead stares at the tree.
Naruto: 'What does he mean?'
Tobirama: "Explain Uchiha..."
Sasuke: "This tree is called Shinju. It is the creator of all life and the destroyer. From it a fruit blossoms that grants whoever eats it unimaginable power....Seems like those Sage of the Six Paths tales were true. For he was the first to utilize chakra and create Ninjutsu. His mother consumed the fruit."
They all stare with widened eyes, unable to believe it. Sasuke steps down and begins walking towards the tree. Jugo follows after him.
Jugo: "I am coming with you Sasuke."
Tobirama: "Wait! You will need my help. Sarutobi, stay here with these two and make sure Naruto recovers well. Let's go!"
Tobirama steps behind them both and places his hands on their backs, teleporting them closer to the Shinju. Once they change location Jugo closes his eyes. Sasuke looks down at his jacket. Tobirama is confused and is clueless at why they are standing there like that.
Tobirama: "We must hurry." ('What are they doing?')
Jugo: "This area....It's filled with natural energy. Can you not feel it? It strengthens me. You should also be able to feel it Sasuke."
Sasuke: "I feel it..."
Sasuke has a flashback of when Jugo had given him his flesh to fill in the wound on his chest. The flesh is responding to the energy emitting from the tree. A root suddenly begins tearing through the ground and whips out to latch onto Sasuke but it is immediately grabbed by Jugo, who has entered his sage form. Instead of draining the life force from Jugo the root withers and dies, snapping because of Jugo's applied pressure.
Sasuke: "!?!?"
Tobirama: 'What!?!?'
Obito, who is watching from atop, takes notice of what Jugo has done. He begins to merge into the Shinju.
Obito: "......."
The scene changes to Madara and Hashirama, who have distanced themselves from the tree itself.
Hashirama: "How will you enact your plan when he's already begun his!? He is the Juubi's Jinchuriki! The bud has already grown in place!"
Madara: "There are certain things one must keep from their allies. In case they betray you. Obito does not know of the fruit that blossoms from this tree. I shall take it Hashirama and create a world filled with peace!"
Hashirama: "I shall stop you Madara!!! This is not the way to attain peace!!"
Hashirama holds his hands together and the giant thousand armed wooden statue emerges from the ground. Madara does not hesitate to show Hashirama what he has gained. The red markings form on the Uchiha's face.
Hashirama: "Impossible...."
Madara: "After attaining your DNA I made sure to learn all of the techniques in your arsenal. However, added with my power I have tweaked them..."
Madara mirrors Hashirama, clasping his hands together. The same statue is created but unlike Hashirama's it is armored by Susano'o. In each hand a blade is held. The thousand arms split evenly to form what looks to be wings made of the bladed arms.
Madara: "Behold my new power....Thousand Armed Tengu God."
Both of them lunge towards each other and clash. At that moment the scene changes to the Kage, Orochimaru, Karin, and Suigetsu. Karin senses the chakra of the Shinju and begins sweating. As they close in they can see the Shinju.
Tsunade: "What is that!?"
A "!?!?"
Gaara: "Is this???"
Mei: "No..."
Onoki: "Has Madara done this!?"
Suigetsu: "What the **** is that!?"
Karin: "Whatever it's chakra is off the charts!"
Simultaneously, they all stopped and overlooked the chaos. Orochimaru gazed at the tree, spotting Sasuke, Tobirama, and Jugo.
Orochimaru: "So the legend is true....The God tree that had granted humanity chakra."
A: "Look!!! That Uchiha boy!! He must have caused this!!!"
Karin: "Shut up!! Sasuke would never do something like this!!"
Orochimaru: "...Sasuke is not the cause of this. It appears to me that he is making his way up to the one behind this. It looks like The Second Hokage and Jugo are with him as well....Interesting."
Tsunade: "Then let us help them!!"
Back at the Shinju, Tobirama, Sasuke, and Jugo appear to be moving up towards the bud. Branches continue to attack them but are easily killed off by Jugo's abilities. Sasuke also does damage himself, using Chidori Eiso to cut through them. Tobirama uses his water techniques to fire high pressured jets of water to slice through the wood.
Sasuke: "It's not too far from here! Let's go."
Jugo: "Mhm."
Tobirama: "We must hurry! Obito could attack us at any moment!"
Madara: "Or me....."
They all quickly look up to see Madara standing on a branch, looking down at them with his arms crossed. Madara looks at Sasuke and then smirks as the latter activates his Eternal Mangekyou.
Madara: "So you know?"
He then stares at Jugo, who is in partial sage form.
Madara: "You are of the Tenjo..."
Tobirama: "...."
Sasuke: "....."
Jugo: "Tenjo?"
Madara: "During the time of the Shinju. There was a clan that drew sap from the God Tree. They had lived off this sap and gained the tree's power. The power to harness and gather natural energy. To absorb it and even chakra itself. Because they had went against the law set by the humans they were cursed, taking on monstrous forms. They were banished to the caves of Ryuchi."
Sasuke: 'So that explains how he is able to kill the roots and branches.'
Tobirama: 'How much does Madara know.......'
Madara: "You have been using the ability of the Shinju. You have been absorbing the natural energy from the tree to kill it....And now you are heading to the top?"
Tobirama: "Silence Madara! If you are trying to keep us from reaching the bud you will not succeed! We shall destroy it along with the fruit that blossoms from this cursed tree!"
Madara: "You won't because...."
Both Sasuke and Madara: "I shall have the fruit!"
Tobirama turns to Sasuke with a puzzled look and Jugo does as well. What exactly is Sasuke planning? Next issue the battle between Uchiha ensues!
