It wouldn't necessarily be taken away so quickly, if it did turn out this way, it just gives a chance for the Bijuu to all be together with no interference and open up ALOT more chances for Obito to take away the Bijuu. But, I do agree with what you said about it being too rushed if his power up was taken away.
