This falls exactly in line with the running theme of Naruto and Hinata.
Whether or not it indicates a "shipping" - is really irrelevant to the fact that the trend is quite strong: Naruto and Hinata are intended to be Yang and Yin, respectively.
It's kind of interesting how a side-character was -designed- from a fundamental level to interact so strongly with the main character as opposed to the lead female role... but it would seem this has been the case for a long, long time:

This latest speech from Naruto runs in the same vein as their other points of interaction. They are -constantly- passing inspiration and form between each other which is precisely the Taoist view of the world.
This will certainly not be the last time this happens.
Though I shall sit and find it amusing as everyone misjudges the situation and posts theories of Sakura or some other individual beginning to play similar roles in his life... While others have contributed to more static concepts in his life... it is Hinata that has (and likely always will) handle the dynamic aspect of things. When he's the rubber, she's the road... when he's the road, she's the rubber. Others have helped him get an idea of where he wants to go - she's the counterpart to enable him practical power and stability.
Or it could be that she's an order of magnitude more awesome than I find reasonable to suspect and she's mastered the art of Wei Wu Wei - effectively becoming nature, itself, and guiding various events without making it obvious that she has done so. Infinite Tsukuyomi and Creation of All Things are foolish, tactless abilities dreamt up by wayward children by comparison to such an ability....
