(Scene shows votings for each elite shinobi makes Hashirama and Madara even in counting but then...)

(Scene shows some uproars between shinobi)

Tobirama: Nice brother you won!! the village now acknowledge you as its leader... or i say 1st HOKAGE

Hashirama: Indeed but i guess I still need your support Madara.

Uchiha Clan: Yeah!!!!, For the Hokage!!!

From what we have seen it wasn't just "Alright, lets vote", and "Oh you won.. I'm so happy for you"..

The Uchiha and Senju used to fight quite alot.. and if one country hired one of the clans, their enemy would hire the other..
And from all the flashbacks we've seen, and all the stuff we have been told.. this was during the time where Hashirama was leading the Senju, and Madara was leading the Uchiha.
And first when they where older they made a peace agreement... And Madara sure wasn't happy about it..

Well, all we know is that he was picked So it could be several things that did it..
perhaps, lets say that the Hyuuga supported Hashi and not Madara... Then since they are quite a huge clan, they would be able to outnumber the uchiha together with the Senju.

It seems like something happened to the Senju, cause there's none of them left! Obviously the Uchiha clan massacre happened, but was there a Senju massacre?

Well.. we know that the Senju and Uzumaki is distant relatives? So perhaps the Senju came to their aid when their village was attacked? This would also explain why there's a few Uzumaki and Senju left.. .. Because, if it was some kind of "Genocide", like with the Uchiha, where the purpose would be to kill all Senju and Uzumaki they would have hunted those who had flet to other villages (Karin or Nagatos relatives etc..)
