I only started reading the Manga from like chapter 450 or something  But I've seen the early chapters and I don't think the artwork was as good then as it is now.

Yeah, Back then Kishi also had a big thing for guys looking like girls. Haku is a prime example haha. Right now though, I have to admit. Everything looks so western, Which is good as he wanted to appeal to the western target audience.

i stated reading it when pain was fighting naruto
Same here, I started reading it during the pain arc around 450. I'm sure there are a lot of people who watched it dubbed on CN, switched to subbed until that ran dry, and than turned to the manga. If you followed that trend, with some gaps in time between, then you'd have come to the manga around 450.

Anyway, I really like the way the manga is drawn now, but when I look back at old chapters, my favorite combo of art/story was around the prime Akatsuki era. Basically when Hidan and Kakuzu were getting a lot of screen time and when Deidara was having his last hurrah.

I prefer part I 'cause everyone is almost equal in strength...hmm. Part II is OK but like most other mangakas, Kishi's art becomes more simple :D
