Clash of the Swords

Chapter One:The New Generation

“Many, many, many, years ago the world was encountered with a great evil in the form of a man. His name was Yan. Yan and his army was taking over the world with brutal force. Taking nations and rights away from the people. There use to be 5 nations in all. . They were called the Fire, Water, Wind, Lightning, and Earth Nations. Each nation resembled the type of swordsmen in that nation. Yan was close to achieving his goal of conquering the world until 3 legendary swordsmen with special abilities went against his power and were able to defeat him and his army. They returned love and prosperity back into the world. Due to the divisions and destruction of the Nations from this short war they decided to combine all the 5 Nations into one. Thus creating The United Nations.”

“What happened next mom?” The boy said with interested eyes.

“Well, peace was brought back to the land,” the mother said as she continued reading. “ After creating the United Nations and new balance one of the legendary swordsmen noticed the worlds evil did not vanish with Yan. It was reborn inside mankind in the form of hatred, greed, and lust for power. And if fomented it could become a threat once again. So they warned the United Nations hierarchy of this new evil presence and to seek them in their youth whenever the time came....-”

“Youth?” The boy said interrupting his mother.

“Yes, youth.” The mother replied. “Many people don’t understand this but most researchers said it means in there reincarnated forms. So basically they’ll be reborn again.”

“Oh, okay.” The boy snuggled under his blanket again.

The mother continued reading.

“Without knowing what this meant the United Nations continued on with their new lives. Even though things still looked good after the deaths of the three swordsmen greed, territory, wealth, and power divided the United Nations. This caused them to slip back into Elemental Nations. But one nation, the Lightning Nation, couldn’t live with their own land. Instead, they pillaged other Nations for gold, land, and power. And as their power grew the numbers who feared grew equally. To this day they are longing to have all the Nations under their control. With only the Fire and Earth Nation to go there mission was near completion. So, the monks of the Fire Temple gathered and began to question what the 3 legendary swordsmen meant by “seek them in their youth” many years ago. Only until one of the monks named Master Wu came to the answer that it would most liking mean the 3 swordsmen were reincarnated into the new youth or children of the new generation. With this as their only hunch, the search began. The monks traveled around the world for years in search for the new children. The search for the new legendary swordsmen is still underway to this very day. But as the search continues so is the Lightning Nations raid.”

“I liked that story mom.” The boy said. “Thanks for reading it to me.”

“Anything for my sweetie pie.” The mother replied as she began to tuck the boy to bed.

“Why do you look so sad mom?” the boy said

“Sad?”, the mother said in a laughbale voice. “Mommie isn’t sad....I’m just.... tired.”

“Okay......” The boy said as the women kissed him on the forehead and walked toward the door. “ Get a lot of sleep so you won’t be tired tomorrow.Goodnight....”

“ I will baby. Goodnight.” The mother said as she turned off the lights and walked out of the room.
-----------------------------------------------

I’m hiding. Hiding from what or from whom. I can’t tell you my current position or why I hiding. Just know I’m hiding. I can’t make any sudden movements or I’m............... I’ll just leave it at that.

I’m trying to feel if anyone is skulking around the boulder I’m hiding behind. No one. I then tell myself not to peek or look but I couldn’t control myself. My body stiffened, I slowly turned to peek around the boulder and I saw a dark figure run from one tree to another. My heart skipped a beat and my right leg moved. Even though I knew it wasn’t loud, in my head it sounded like a tree collapsing.

“Who was that?” I said to myself. “Did they find me?”

Then I heard a noise that I thought was a wild animal but was best fit to be soft footsteps heading in my direction..

“Ah, man.” I whispered softly. “I have to run for it.”

The footsteps were getting closer. My instincts told me to run and be able to live for another day but I didn’t dare move. I eased over to see who was there. Twenty feet away was a person. Our eyes met or at least I thought they did but that didn’t matter because my cough gave me away . A soft cough but enough to be heard.

“Holy shit.” I said to myself. “ I have to move now!”

Before that action found time to go along with the thought I felt a shadow over me. Suddenly a hand grabbed my shoulder. I let out a loud wail as my voice echoed throughout the forest. I sat still as the figure chuckled and said these very clear words, “Finally got you Clash.” I jumped away from the his grip and flew backwards to the ground. Only until I looked at the guy face did I smile.

“Charm, come on!” I yelled jokingly. “You didn’t have to scare me like that.”
“Yes I did,” Charm replied laughing. “I didn’t want to take it easy on you. I mean, you scared the shit out of me last time. Jumping from a tree and tackling me. We were only playing hide-and-go-seek.”
“Whatever, did you find Victoria yet?” I said as I dust off my shorts and stretched.
“Nope, but I think I know where she’s at.” Charm said in his Mr.Obvious voice.
“Think, we know where she’s at.” I said smiling as we walked to find Victoria.

Charm was my teammate as well as my friend. His blue eyes and blonde hair made him very attractive to a woman’s eye. We both studied the art of the sword under Master Wu. He was chosen to train us secretly with the monks at the Hiruzen Flame Temples in the middle of the Iza Forest.

“So who do think is going to get the lightning-flamerita sword?” He said kicking dirt as we walked. “Master Wu did say today he was going to choose who best fit it. Personally, I like the lightning and fire combo idea. Hopefully either you or I get it.”
“Yeah, cause if Victoria gets the two type sword hell is going to break loose.” I replied laughing. “ But you seem to be more of the earth type swordsmen you know. What’s it called, the uh, earth, earth-something.”
“The Wind-earthrita sword.” Charm said correcting me. “But I’m not that much into earth. I like complete force and striking first. And that quality fits the lightning-flamerita sword. We’re suppose to meet Master Wu at the temple when he rings the bell right?”
“Yeah,” I answered as we turned west and went in that direction. “I bet Victoria is gonna get the Aquarita sword. She’s going to get the lamest element of all.”
“Water isn’t that lame bro.” Charm replied.
“Okay, so I’m going to slap you with a water blast.” I said. “Wow, I’m so wet. So cool. Hell no.”
“True, true.” Charm replied. “ It seem to be the weakest element unless you can really use it. That’s probably why the Water Nation fell first.”
“Probably.” I said looking up to see if we were close to the spot Victoria always hide at. “And the two strongest nations still stand. Fire and Earth. Fire represent all day bro.”
“Repping the Earth Nation all day too,” Charm said throwing up the Earth Nation symbol.
“Whatever.” I said nodding my head. “We’re here.”

By here I meant the tree Victoria climbed and hid in every time when we played this game. It was a rather large tree that had the names “Charm + Victoria” carved into it. The names were rather big, like she wanted someone to see it. Charm leaned against the tree and looked up. I looked up too.

“Oh where or where is Victoria?” Charm said in a funny but fake voice.
“Yeah!” I added. “Is she in this same tree on the same branch looking down on us in the same spot.”
“You found me Charm!!!!” A feminine voice yelled from above.

Then suddenly, Victoria jumped from the tree and landed in front of Charm. Her blackish -blue hair smelled good as it straightened itself out.

“Found?” I asked. “More like targeted.”
“Was I talking to you?” Victoria said in a rude voice. She then turned back to Charm. “How did you find me?”

Charm backed away even though Victoria tried to seduce him by pressing her body against his. This was typical.

“You already know how.” Charm said shaking his head shamefully. “No point in hiding in the same spot.”
“Treated,”I said under a quick cough.
“Clash, just uhh.” Victoria said ignoring me. “Charm, I hid in a different tree. Did you see the carving I did, its in a different spot. So a different tree.”
“No,”I said. “Same spot equals same tree.”
“Lets go guys.” Charm replied leaning up from the tree. “We should be heading for the temple soon. The bell should be-.”

Suddenly a loud bell rang loudly. It rung out about 3 times and that was it. My ears were still ringing afterwards.

“Damn,” I said. “Looks like we got a psychic here.”
Charm smiled. “Guess I am.”

We started to walk away with Victoria walking behind Charm. As we walked through the forest I realized that it wasn’t as scary as most people say it is. It’s actually interesting. Wild life is great. But then Victoria started to say something. And whenever she talks it’s either about her love for Charm or how much she hate me.

“So Charm,” Victoria said. “ I want you to get the lightning-flamerita sword. You’ll be able to beat the Emperor with it.”
“Oh hell no!” I said getting a little angry cause I heard this about 50 times already. “Why do Charm have to get the sword. I’m just as good as he is. Damn, you’re ignoring as hell.”
“Clash, in your dreams you are better, wait. Not even in your dreams are you better than Charm.”Victoria commented while rolling her eyes.
“You know what, I don’t give a shit anymore.” I said. “Go ahead and talk about ya love for Charm. Like it’s not obvious he doesn’t like you.”
“Damn guys,” Charm said. “I’m not feeling it right now. Just stop arguing. And Victoria, I know you want me to get the sword. You’ve been saying that for the past month. Can we get there first. Sheesh....”

We continued walking. Victoria was quiet after that comment. I guess the pressure of what sword we were going to get was getting to Charm because it was surely getting to me. Basically 2 of us are going to get a sword that had 2 types while the other gets the lame water type. Hopefully Victoria gets that one.

As the forest began to openwe started to get a view of the temple. The Caiz Temple was surround by the forest we were in now. And since the temple was in the middle of it, it was a great spot to stay hidden from the Emperor. Plus it wasn’t marked on any map which made it better. As we traveled downhill toward the temple we saw the gates and brick wall that surrounded the it. Once we got there, we walked through the gates and into the Courtyard. The Courtyard was where we trained. That included running and fencing and if was filled with our training equipment also. Just seeing this made me shake because I was nervous. My life was going to be determined in the next 20 minutes. I managed to continue walking.

“Lets check the main hall.” I said since Master Wu told us the Monks would also be here. They agreed and we walked into the temple doors. The temple itself wasn’t that big. It was about 50 feet in height and the 100 feet in width. The courtyards were just 50 feet by 50 feet also. They had gardens and bushes planted to have a nice scenery. It seemed to have one of those ancient castle looks, with things made out of gold and expensive rugs, curtains, and couches. This temple was where one of the legendary swordsmen came to relax from the world in the time of peace.

We walked inside the room and saw a 5 foot man with short white hair wearing a plain white robe. He was talking to 2 monks. Master Wu stopped as he motioned to us to come over. The monks turned and I recognized them. They were Karze and Olito. They were wearing their yellow and red clothings and were completely bald. I never understood the bald part but who cared. Sincethey were balded it was hard to tell the difference between them. They were two of the 5 monks that transported us to this temple. They were responsible of keeping us safe. This time they didn’t have their swords with them. But that was when I noticed they were carrying 3 swords in their hands, each of them in there own case. Olito had 2 swords in his hands, one had a shiny blue case while the other had a green and light blue case. Karze had the red and yellow case with the sword. The handle had an epic design. The red and yellow carvings were and going around the handle. The other swords had their own designs on the handle too. So it was obvious to know which one was which.

Victoria, Charm and I bowed mid-way and the monks did the same.

“Hope you three been well.” Olito said smiling. “ It seems that way by the smiles on your faces.”
“You all waited for this day since last month.” Karze said. “And if your training with Master Wu has gone well then you surely will be able to use the swords you’re given.”
“We've trained long and hard for this.” I replied. “ Can’t wait for the decision.”
“I’ve been well,” Charm said properly.
“Same here.” Victoria agreed.
“So let’s get down to business.” Master Wu said. “Should we start the decisions?”
“Yes, no time to waste.” Karze replied back as he straightened up. “Let’s start.”
“Master Wu,” Olito replied. “Since you know them better you can begin with the descriptions while we announce each when you are done. You can start with Victoria. Since you all are trained in the basics of swordsmanship the swords should recognize your energy and respond.”

This sound weird but I stood still, holding in everything I wanted to say.Victoria jumped at the sound of her name but calmed down.

“Sure.” Master Wu said as he walked in front of us. “First let me review some things to you all.”

The monks nodded in agreement and Master Wu went on. The sun shined brightly through the window. Signifying that it was morning.

“As you know there are 5 different types of elements that a sword can have.” Master Wu began as we nodded in agreement. “And for each sword there is a stone. In these 3 swords there are no stones. Your power inside of you is stronger than any other. That power will awaken the sword you’ll get. Don't worry about not knowing if the sword activates itself, you'll know when it's happening. Are you following?”

We all said yes in unison. The monks smiled and he continued.

“Now there are three levels to every swords. After each level is unlocked the sword transforms into its next form. This differentiate the weak from the strong. Level three is the strongest and its rare for most swordsmen to get to that level since it takes years to master a sword element. Your swords are in its level one stage because when the Greats died it transformed, and the monks from that time hid them around the world. It is said that your abilities in level one matches a level two swordsmen. The monks and I are level three swordsmen, so you are well protected.”

Master Wu tool a deep breathe and continued talking. “Now there are secrets to unlock the swords true power. That you will have to find out on your own. But this is important, even though you three will stop this new evil presence together the one who have the lightning-flamerita sword is destined to fight the Lightning Emperor. Why? Because only the lightning-flamerita sword was able to fight Yan sword and defeat it.”

“So you’re saying the other 2 are just back-up.” I said confused.
“No, I’m saying that the LFR sword is stronger than the others. And its power was the only able to match Yan’s sword.”
“Then it’ll be easier to defeat the emperor since he doesn't have Yan sword. We can all fight him and whup his ass.” Charm replied shrugging.

I agreed with Charm. If the Lightning Emperor went against all three of us he’ll lose. Its not like he had darker evil than Yan had himself.

“That’s where you’re wrong Charm.” Master Wu with an hesitating voice. He paused for a moment and continued speaking.

“He does have Yan sword. And since he can fully control all of his abilities, he can control its Dark Magic.”

“What!!!?” We all said together.

This changed the everything. If he had Yan’s sword and unlocked the darkness power this was a different battle. The Greats were older than us when they fought him, and 2 of them almost died. And as we speak Yan was conquering parts of the two remaining Nations. Our time was running out

Chapter 1: Here, Kitty Kitty

“Hey! What are you doing?! It’s late, and dinner’s almost ready!”

“I know, sis…shhh…just give me a minute.” Zane replied in a hushed tone.

He was focusing on a kitten who had taken interest in him for some reason. Bria was always such a pain and had nearly scared it off with her yelling. It finally settled down a little and looked back at the young man holding his hands out calmly.

“You aren’t going to be able to do it ya’ know; just give up and come inside.” She told him in her usual smug tone.

Zane ignored it, it was typical and he had learned to block it out years ago. He just kept focusing on the cat which sat there looking at him indignantly. After a few moments he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then began moving one hand closer to the animal. The other hand he wrapped around his arm the way younger trainers were taught to.

“This is stupid; just give it up already…” Bria reached out and was about to grab that same arm to pull him back to the house.

Before the girl could finish flapping her arrogant lips, Zane placed his hand on the kitten’s front leg. Suddenly there was an explosion of power, the cat’s paw doubled in size, then its shoulder right above his hand followed suit. A heartbeat later the entire leg was three times what it should normally be. The rest of its body began to transform as well, but not as rapidly.

The creature looked at Zane then let out a miniature growl which turned into a violent roar as it continued to grow larger. Its fur seemed to be absorbed in its skin as the muscles bulged and veins were pushed outward. The hairless cat went from a pinkish color to a dark grey; every inch of its body was pulsing with unimaginable strength. The one arm continued to grow larger ahead of everything else, causing it to be somewhat lopsided.

Zane had stumbled backward in shock; this is what he wanted, but never expected it to just simply happen like this. Bria stood in awe after retreating slightly herself; she never imagined her stupid brother would pull off such a transformation; it was her duty as his older sister to always be first at everything.

What was once a small kitten had now become a fearsome beast; its claws dug into the log it was griping, then snapped it into pieces that splintered off in a shower. The two siblings received several cuts, but that was no concern. This monster was out of control. It took a swipe at Bria then snapped at her brother.

“You’re supposed to have it under control, you idiot!” She yelled at him.

“I don’t know what’s wrong!”

“Well do something, don’t just stand there looking stupid!”

“Shut up, will you?!” He replied, their rivalry never ceasing even in a crisis.

Zane’s red hair flew back as the beast let out an ear-splitting roar. He managed to touch it one more time in an attempt to control the situation. Placing his trembling hand on its snout he tried forcing his will into the monster. Obviously it wasn’t working, it felt his fear and resisted. Just then their parents came running out of the house with all this commotion.

“What’s going on?!” Shouted Sam Wolfe, but his question was answered for him when he saw the creature. “Get back, boy!” He ordered as the fiend whipped its head threateningly toward him.

Thinking fast to save his children, the man reached down in mid stride to rip an axe from its stump. He hurled it through the air, lodging it into the shoulder of the overgrown cat. Even though this monster was now twice the size of a man and still growing, such a sharp amount of pain was enough to startle it. A flailing paw swung at Zane; giant claws taring across his body. The teen was knocked down, which immediately induced panic from his mother.

“Honey!” She screamed.

Bria had enough sense to retreat from the area entirely, but when she saw her brother fall it was only fear that kept her from running back out to him. She looked over to see mother being motioned to stay back.

“He’s fine! Let’s worry more about this thing, we can’t let it…” He was cut off when the beast let out another thunderous outcry.

The whole town was awake now, not to mention the neighboring family. The Wolfe had lived in this place for hundreds of years, and had occasionally caused disturbances before, but this was by far the most dangerous in recent history. However, the town was theirs to protect as well, there was a reason it was named Wolfegate after all.

The town itself lay below in a valley, while the Wolfe family lived in a more forested area overlooking it. Two great rivers which spilled into waterfalls framed the Eastern end of the valley, cutting the village in three parts which were spanned by bridges before dumping into the ocean on the Western side. There were only two ways in or out of the town, and with a rampaging beast thrashing about it was critical to keep it from charging into the dell.

Bells began ringing as an alarm; the warriors of Wolfe were rushing to and fro; noise had filled the night air completely. All the sounds were distracting the monstrous cat as it whipped its head left and right in confusion. Zane brought himself to his feet, the pain was worse than the actual cuts but that was no excuse to not help clean up his own mess.

At first it seemed like everyone was dashing about wildly. Zane finally managed to distance himself from the creature, but accidently backed into someone as a shoulder slammed against his.

“Watch what you’re doing, kid!” The man snapped; it was none other than Mathias, a sort of rival to his father Sam. “I swear, if you were my son…” He just looked at Zane who averted his gaze, then figured he’d save his breath on the matter.

Bria ran to her brother “Are you okay?!” There seemed to actually be some genuine concern in her voice for once.

“I’m fine, but we need to do something…”

“We?...We?! You got us into this, dumbass!” She announced, cutting him off.

In every direction a member of the Wolfe family was scurrying about. It seemed like pure chaos from their standpoint. Several torches were heading up the winding road which led to the cliff top. Obviously they were town guards that were dispatched to see what’s going on up there.

The two teens watched in horror as the beast continued to grow, its back nearly as tall as a house now. The leg that he initially touched and his father hit with an axe was still the largest one; in fact it was nearly twice the size of one of the other three and slightly longer. Not only had he failed to maintain control of it, but the transformation itself wasn’t any good. He finally stopped staring in disbelief at this total disaster when Bria grabbed his arm.

“Come on, stupid, let them handle it, let’s get out of here!”

“No! I don’t know what I can do, but I’m not running away!” He growled at her.

She hadn’t seen him act like that before, but this was something he cared about deeply. Neither one of them could pull off a mutation or even enhance an aspect till now, but he had always put a lot more effort into it than she did. To finally do it only for it to be a calamity was certainly something her brother would take too personally.

“Fine, do what you want, who cares!” She barked back then removed herself from the scene; though she couldn’t help but stay nearby to watch.

The cat’s tail whipped into the side of a home; it was just a random movement, but enough to smash the wall in. Of course, houses in Wolfegate were renowned for their sturdiness, especially those of the Wolfe family, for obvious reasons. Controlling great beasts doesn’t always go as planned. The fact that this cat had the strength to damage the house with just its tail was troublesome indeed.

Right when it seemed like no one was organized, Zane saw two men standing on the other side of the creature with their backs to the town below. Both had two dogs on either side of them, protecting the town was the number one priority. Both men simultaneously reached down and touched them, then stepped back. Within moments all four were three times their normal size and still growing. The mutation was fast and flawless, unlike Zane’s pathetic attempt.

Muscles bulged on the dogs; their fangs became more like daggers, giant nails that dug into the ground. These creatures were magnificent. Once their transformation was complete, each looked nearly identical, despite having different trainers. Zane figured the two men must have been the twins Jimi and Jama, they were always so skilled.

Right when the overgrown kitten was about to start batting at the ants running around its feet, two of the dogs latched on to its backside with their teeth. The beast hollered in pain then swung around to fight whatever it was that caused it. Its hind legs dug in to stop the quick spin; both dogs were flung off like they were nothing. This cat was far larger than most people had even seen before, and even as fearsome and skilled as these hounds were, they were obviously no match for this monstrosity.

Instead of scaring it off and chasing it into the surrounding forest, the beast was now facing the town and growling at its attackers in anger, ready to charge. The twins didn’t expect this; the plan was for everyone else to distract it while they got in position and the attack was supposed to just scare it off after confusing it. It was still just a cat, it didn’t have any training, nor could it have much more intelligence with the mutation. For some reason it felt the need to defend itself instead of run off.

The twins stood their ground, with two canines ready to fight and the other two picking themselves up, there was no way this thing would get past. It might have been big, but it was still mortal. The others were finally in place, and some had even started transforming their beasts as well. Zane looked around and realized that the chaos was actually order; everyone knew what to do from the start; and without even consulting had arranged in a perfect formation to combat this threat. Some were on rooftops and the rest on the ground.

It still wasn’t enough though, the cat had locked on to its target and wasn’t about to be distracted. Jimi and Jama jumped out of the way as the monster charged forward into the two dogs. It was now on the attack, defense was no longer in play. Both hounds bit deeply into its arms, trying to hold it back, but they didn’t have a chance. The animal overshot, not realizing its strength or even understanding what was happening to it. All three creatures plunged off the edge, diving down towards the guards who were only halfway up the slope.

Everyone’s fear had been realized, it was heading straight for the town now; the only hope was that the mutation would reverse itself sooner rather than later...

Dude, really? I know Train can be kind of blatant about it, but he means nothing by it. He's just into the idea of solid, 'everything you've got on the table, pour your soul into it' writing. That's just who he is. Should he give people a break? Yeah, sometimes. But he is most definitely not trying to offend you; he just has a crass way of speaking. You're being very immature making this thread in the first point, and honestly I'm disappointed. This kind of crap is the junk that comes from the Naruto/other discussion sections. The FF community is a united group there for the love of, support of, and practice of writing.

Leave this petty squabbling amongst yourselves, don't try to make it a public farce which only embarrasses you both. I'm going to request this thread be closed. I'm about to ask a mod.

Don't worry, I agreed to it. xd What NarutAwesome doesn't understand though is that I know who I am...he needs to ask himself if he knows who he is.

If a child is playing in a sandbox, and he destroys his own sandcastle, it's his fault. You don't rush to the child and console them, maybe a little, but you also have to be tough. At any rate I'm at least mildly entertained by this whole thing. ^_^

I agree with this for the most part and my advice for you to deal with S. Train is to just not speak to him and don't associate yourself with him if you're going to let it affect you to make decisions like this. It's not fair to place blame on one side over the other in cases like this, both of you only add fuel to the fire. Now, if it was kept between you guys, personally I wouldn't care, you do you how you wanna do. But when the issue spreads to the here it only serves to further polute the FF community which has already been contaminated enough in my opinion.

I'm not going to bother reading since I've somewhat distanced myself from this section of the base and don't have time really but I felt I should just put my comment here about the issue since I do find it petty.

Again, my advice to you, somebody talks shit about you, don't go to their level, just let them be the only ass in the convo and ignore them.

Well said, I completely agree with all of this. If only more people understood it. ^_^

Edit: I couldn't resist, I had to check the poll results...only one vote...and it's for NarutAwesome...really? You voted for yourself? Dude...lame. ^_^

Edit: Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot to say it earlier, forgive my conduct. I hope you win, truly, and I mean that. Good luck, bro. ^_^

who cares._.
we write fanfics for fun, not to see who's better

it's not like we can tell by contests anyway. Whoever wins just is more popular, doens't mean they write better.
So forget it and move on, go read my fanficxd

Writing for recognition will always fail though. If you don't write for pure enjoyment and like what you're writing, then no one else will like your work either.

NA started this, but I don't see many comments from him. ^_^ I'll see it through though, just for giggly sh*ts. XD
