Every fight they won was solely due to plot needing them to stay alive.

Sasuke was weaker than itachi when he fought him but plot worked it's magic

Naruto was weaker than Nagatos pains I admit and it worked it's magic.

Sasuke was suppose to die TWICE Vs KB but plot worked it's magic

Sasuke was suppose to die again at the Kage summit but PLOT

Naruto was suppose to die from the God tree but plot needed him alive

Naruto and Sasuke was suppose to die like on 3 separate occasions in the KAguya fight but thanks to Obito and plot they sealed her


I can't think of a fight where they won solely because they were stronger.

Naruto killed Kakuzu . And defeated Neji .
Sasuke killed Deidara and Orochimaru on his own .
But yeah , plot hole always protected them.

Sasuke beat deidara fair and square, with Tobi in tow. I don't think anything too plotty went down in gaara vs naruto... I mean... they where both jincs and their nuances... but naruto won that one... but honestly, looking for big fights mc's win in a story is kinda... pointless isn't it?

Dude, you realize that Naruto used the Nine-Tails to beat Neji right? Technically only Sasuke beat opponents on his own.
