NaruSaku Trump Card

The paring war is basically at a tie, with there being a NaruHina moment, that was followed by a NaruSaku moment, and probably a SasuSaku moment coming up soon enough. However, one pairing has a trump card over the other, that many have forgotten about.

Last chapter Naruto has confirmed that he still has feelings for Sakura. I agree that he might be feeling something for Hinata tho. But, It doesn't really matter, the important part is that he openly showed he would like for Sakura to be his girlfriend. Only thing stopping that from happening is Sakura's "fake" feelings towards Sasuke.

She has obviously been clinging to that one time Sasuke has actually complimented her, that one thing that made her go from a crush, to actually liking him. However, she has yet to find out that it was all Naruto. That will be the Trump Card NaruSaku has over SasuSaku. As long as Kishi does not forget about this scene, SasuSaku will not happen.

This is a sketch of a character we now know as "Hinata Hyuuga" submitted to the publishers/producers before Naruto was given the green-light.

That picture is information I stumbled upon only recently - and was not able to include in my thread, here:

That thread breaks down that Naruto and Hinata share an intrinsic relationship to each other as Yin and Yang - both Taoist concepts. Actually - Naruto, itself, draws many of its concepts directly from Taoism. Taoism is the theme of the Hyuuga.

What the above picture does is illustrate that this intrinsic 'pairing' was intended from the very beginning. Hinata's character predates Sakuras (as hers was largely a result of negotiations between the Producers/Publishers and Kishimoto). This is why Hinata appears for roles that would, classically, be reserved for the main heroine of the show.

NaruSaku never existed in the first place. The only thing that was ever done for it was insertions of a comedic tsundere-like relationship between Naruto and Hinata to appease the publishers - who insisted it was necessary for the title to succeed (because tsundere is more popular in Japan).

That, my dear friend - is what we call "Trump Card."

Obviously, that's not much of a counter if this is your alleged trump card.

However - when one actually looks at the chapter - one sees that there is an obviously odd use of language on Minato's part that confuses Naruto - which is why he says: "If you want to be technical about it..." It's neither Naruto pining after Sakura, nor is it Naruto claiming to be in a relationship with Sakura (and where the hell would that have developed?).

I believe any attempt to evoke "foreshadowing" in recent or prior chapters for the purposes of NaruSaku are vastly inferior to the foreshadowing evident within the concept art and the thematic basis for Naruto and Hinata's continued interaction.
