Naruto and Sakura have developed more of a brother sister relationship than romantic IMO. There's no question that she has grown to respect and care for him deeply, and they have spent a lot of time together, but quality>>>>quantity.
Hinata has been there for him during critical times and has done what the wife of a powerful man should do: be a pillar of strength and encouragement when he's feeling vulnerable. When everyone else is adding to his burden (like Sakura) Hinata has built up Naruto and brought him back from the brink multiple times. Sakura has never been there for Naruto when he was emotionally vulnerable. Hinata has.
Ppl love to say, "oh but Kushina said find someone like her and Sakura has a bad temper and does that arm encouragement thing." This is evidence that these blogs and posts are written by a bunch of teenagers.
Do you really think Kushina meant find someone who looks and acts like her? Kushina is someone who fully supported her husbands dreams and was willing to die for him and her son. Sakura has never been willing to lay down her life for Naruto. Hinata has.
All that aside though, ask yourself why Kishi has chosen to have Hinata at Naruto's side during his most vulnerable and critical moments. Connecting with someone at their most vulnerable is one of the most intimate, meaningful moments you can have with someone. They haven't interacted as much as Naruto and Sakura has, but Naruto and Hinata share a bond much deeper than many ppl care to acknowledge. She's his other half.
