Read the manga, Rinnegan uers are the 7th path and outside the cycle of life and death. Obito and Nagato were already out of chakra when they used the jutsu and aren't the original owners of the Rinnegan so of course they would die from using one of its most powerful techniques. And Konan implied Nagato would have survived if he didn't summon too many souls.

And dojutsu is chakra taxing when the user isn't the original owner, so using RT when their body is severely weakened would obviously kill them.

Sasuke is the original owner of the Rinnegan, has Hashirama's cells and Ashura's chakra therefore he should have the body to survive RT unless he uses it when he's nearly out of chakra.

in all fairness.. it has always been said that once you use Rinne Tensei you die.. it has never been said that the original owners of the eyes will be treated differently..
so as it stands no Rinnegan user can just bring people back to life without dying.

The same was said was said about bijuu extraction yet Kushina survived and so did Obito. Imo as long as you meet specific requirements death can be avoided.

RT is basically summoning a spirit from another dimension and Sasuke has the chakra reserves to summon individuals from other dimensions. I think he would survive as long as he revives a small number of people unlike Nagato
