Who else was he going to ask? Most of you can only back up Narutos feelings for Sakura but not Sakuras feelings for Naruto. Granted Kishi could change that if he wanted but that wouldn't look good for him because his fans would rant about why he couldn't do them at with Hinata. Or Sasuke for Sakura. Take Sakuras feelings into account and admit that no matter how many times NaruSaku fans claim he doesn't like Hinata like that, Sakura still doesn't like Naruto like that.
