Oh I see what you mean. The chakra connection is similar to each other. If the Nara's chakra is in contact with someone, they can sense them, while if Minato's chakra is engraved into someone, he can teleport to them.

It a yin elemental ability, the same as genjutsu, there is some form of sensory ability in it, but I think i only extends to what the shadow is touching. As opposed to ino's level.
