Although deep within his dreams, L is able to maintain his senses in reality. He can feel the blades of grass brush his face as a slight breeze causes them to flicker in a rhythmic dance back and forth. The sky is a clear blue, only a few small clouds are dotted across it, the sun radiating down upon L warmly embracing him. L is overcome with a sense of peace, he is calm and relaxed. However, this all changes when he smells something.
Eyes snapping open L jumps from his lying down position to his usual crouch.

L sees the source of the smell. In the distance he can see a very familiar man calmly approaching him. L recognizes him as clan member, Shikamaru Nara. This was going to be trouble. L had been disowned by a number of Nara Clan members after his move to Sunagakure. He had made his move while Konoha had been at war, and it appeared to them that L had left the village out of cowardice (which wasn't the case). L had heard rumours that members of the clan had been searching for him to punish him for his supposed cowardice and humiliation he brought to the clan. Shikamaru had been one of the Clan members L had heard about, so L was high on alert.
It took a moment but eventually Shikamaru came to a stop mid range range from him. The two eyed each other in silence , Shikamaru's gaze concerned , L's suspicious.
L wasn't one to take chances after hearing these rumours. He went right on the attack.
L draws from his pouch two chakra blades which he infuses with his shadow chakra and then throws in the direction of Shikamaru but not directly at him, making it appear as though he had badly misaimed. One flies to Shikamaru's right where his shadow is cast, the other to shikamaru's left.
Tied to the ends of the blades are ninja wire which L had a tight grip on between each hand upon throwing the blades. (The wire is long enough that when they reach their target (which is mid range) , the wires still have a fair amount of slack remaining)
The blade thrown towards Shikamaru's right lands bang in the middle of Shikamaru's shadow. Using his shadow chakra within the blade, he paralyzes Shikamaru's shadow in place, and in turn Shikamaru himself. The other blade simply lands in the ground to Shikamaru's left in no shadow at all.
With Shikamaru unable to move, L pulls at the wire's that were tied to the blades, releasing them from the blades and causing them to wrap around Shikamaru's torso area (ties his arms flat against his sides as well) . As they intertwine around him, L places the ends of the wires in his mouth and performs the following hand seals,
Snake → Dragon → Rabbit → Tiger
He then breathes fire from his mouth causing flames to rush forward along the wire's wrapped around Shikamaru to him and igniting him.

It was a pretty normal day.Shikamaru had just been playing Shogi,but got bored.He took a random stroll,looking at the clouds as he always does.He walked with his hands in his pockets,a boring day indeed.
Suddenly,Shikamaru came across L.He was a member of the Nara clan,and had brought shame to the clan.Shikamaru remembers that the Nara clan superiors had spoken about L.He should be punished. "L...what a drag.Guess we have to fight."
L looks at Shikamaru concerned,then he suddenly pulls out a few kunai.Shikamaru,knowing he is from the Nara clan,starts to blow away the kunai.Shikamaru forms the Tiger → Ox → Dog → Rabbit → Snake handseals,creating a sudden gust that blows back L and the kunai.

As anticipated, Shikamaru would try and 'blow' the blades away from himself. L recognizes the order of hand seals Shikamaru forms and realizes the technique he'd be performing was: Wind Release: Great Break Through.
Luckily for Shikamaru he manages to pull out the technique just in time, before L's shadow chakra infused blades can pierce his shadow. (The blades had made it quite far in their flight to what would be considered 'mid range' from me, but hadn't quite made it to you, due to the delay in performing your technique as it required 5 hand seals.)
The blades are blown back in L's direction in a gust of wind that Shikamaru produces.
(As a result, ninja wire becomes detached from blades - L lets go of Ninja wire).
Due to Shikamaru's gust of wind being initially produced from mid range, L has more than enough time to anticipate the incoming technique. As the wind approaches L (so now the gust is now about short range of him) L creates a slicing gust of wind which splits the incoming gust of wind, neutralizing it.

Description: User will create a slicing wind gust which is used to divide and neutralize a Wind attack launched against him. It splits an incoming wind attack of lower or equal strength and makes it harmless.
Immediately after L releases his slicing wind gust (So the wind gust is splitting Shikamaru's wind gust at this time) L reaches into his pouch and throws several flash bombs behind himself. As they are in flight, L performs the Rat hand seal. They land on the ground behind L and as a result explode within moments of being thrown and just moments after the wind is neutralized causing a bright flash of light which blinds Shikamaru. The flash of light also results in L's shadow extending towards Shikamaru and L uses his shadow chakra to maintain its length and make it continue towards Shikamaru.
(So even though the flash of light is gone, L is able to maintain the length of his shadow that the light causes and then make his shadow extend from here using his chakra- this is a benefit as it means that the shadow has covered more ground in a quicker amount of time as a opposed to as if he had simply made the shadow extend across the ground using his chakra from the beginning without the aid of the flash bombs. )
As the shadow approaches a blinded Shikamaru, L materializes his shadow into a giant hand which crushes Shikamaru.

Upon seeing Shikamaru wave his arm, L stops what he is doing (Doesn't throw flash bombs). A large fiery wall appears and his view of Shikamaru is obstructed. The wall suddenly begins warping out of shape into a large fiery twister which heads towards L. Thinking quickly, L releases the fuuton chakra that he had already gathered around his body from the previous technique and creates a wall of 5 large Tornadoes that begin hurtling towards the incoming fiery tornado.

Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water out of knowhere. The vortex then proceeds to explode from the top in the form of a wave. The user can also control the direction the wave goes with hand movements.
Along with the waves speed after the tornadoes (So it catches up) and the tornadoes immense power, the wave of water is ultimately sucked into the tornado wall meaning that the tornadoes are now combined with both water and wind.
By this time, your tornado meets my oncoming wall of tornadoes. The two jutsu ultimately cancel one another out. However, due to fire on water, water vapour is made obstructing our vision.
(So there is a large Water Vapour Cloud in the middle of our positions. We are not inside the Water Vapour.)
Quickly, L first throws a few smoke bombs in Water Vapour barrier, they go off and the smoke is barely able to be distinguished from the Water Vapour. The Water vapour then, appears to be simply spreading (Towards both me and Shikamaru), there is no obvious sign that there is smoke within it. Following quickly after them, L throws several more smoke bombs through the water vapour now, to Shikamaru's position. They go off and the smoke surrounds him and combines with the smoke that has combined with the water vapour.
(Now Shikamaru is inside the Smoke-Water Vapour Cloud)
L then performs the rat hand seal and then uses his shadow chakra to extend his shadow to the cloud of smoke and water vapour, materializing his shadow he makes it cover the entire smoke-water vapour cloud stopping it from spreading over himself and anymore , ultimately compressing it and crushing Shikamaru within it.

Thinking quickly, L once again releases his wind chakra, creating a wall of 5 giant tornadoes that he sends towards Shikamaru's last known position and ultimately through the dissipating vapor.
*This happens before Shikamaru's technique can reach L, as it too requires no hand seals, and L anticipated the technique when he saw the vapor dissipating and coming towards him, indicating that it had been blown his way with a wind technique. Shikamaru's technique upon reaching the tornadoes, would be neutralized or will join my tornado wall, being a lower rank. Since I am not stunned by your wind technique, your lightning technique never happens. *

That was a great fight, I only just scraped the win there. If your last move were valid (which it almost was - I was panicking) you probably would have won, I have no idea how I would have countered it. You have been a great first opponent, and hopefully we can meet in the battle field sometime again, perhaps when we have both mastered the shadows !
