Ban's a jobber dude, he is the perfect example of worf effect wherein a user which is already established to be strong is made to lose so as to show the power of the opponent and grimness of the situation. Here in NNT since ban is immortal hence used in this way.

Also I still believe he usually don't take his fights seriously, last battle was the only one where he was serious.U_U
