Part of the problem now is who is around to reveal this lineage? Despite the importance of being an Uzumaki, no one told Naruto that he's one of the last of known descendents of a once great clan that Konoha honors with that swirl everywhere such as the back of the flack jackets. It took Kushina's chakra residue to appear in about 500 chapters for it to happen.
Further, I don't know that he displayed any KG that lead to his clan being special. There is the Sarutobi clan that is 16+ generations old, but they don't possess any special abilities to my knowledge except producing some strong shinobi like Asuma and possibly Konohamaru, and the Hokage Hiruzen.
There's a clan, but a clan doesn't necessarily translate to being a descendent of the Rikudou Sennin, there's a huge difference. As one can also be believed to a descendent of the Rikudou Sennin, but not be confined to a clan, such as the KinGin brothers who were able to survive inside the Kyuubi for 2 weeks after being swallowed. Given, this finding, it's quite likely, that Naruto is unique in a different way than Sasuke is, especially since they're yin/yang. Who knows.
Naruto's unique, so don't think, that you have to cross all the t's and dot the i's of his lineage starting with the Namikaze, to trace him back to the Rikudou Sennin in order to argue for him to eventually obtain his powers potentially. Sasuke is different, and we have a much clearer path as to how the Uchiha achieve their path of upgrading their visual powers. I guess, I'm more interested in how Naruto's going to upgrade his bodily powers because Minato is gone, with the basic assumption of sage/Kyuubi mode fusion. However, the devil's in the details.
