okay so here's part 4, from Kushina's POV. Sorry for the time skip, I'm kind of starved for time right now. To review: in part 1, you meet Minato and Mikoto, originally from Yuukigakure. In part two, they agree to go to Konoha, to become strong and live in a somewhat peaceful environment. In part 3, you meet Kushina, who inspires Minato be Hokage. Now in part 4, you meet everyones moms, or you at least learn the names I had to make up for the majority of them, since everyones but Shikamaru's mom, Yoshino, Sakura's mom, Mebuki, and Kiba's mom, Tsume, are unknown. I would like to announce that part 5 and on will be posted under the name Minato and Kushina history fanfiction. Please enjoy. Those of you who would like a link to part 5, please say so in a reply post. Enjoy!

Kushina sat with her legs folded while gripping her ankles. Her classmates were following the instructions of their sensei and picking flowers for bouquets. Apparently flower arranging was an important job for a kunoichi. But Kushina wasn’t buying it. What did picking daisies have to do with ninjutsu?
The beauty queens, Ama and Tsubasa, who were betrothed to the Hyuga twins, seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ama, who was marrying the clan heir, was very kind. She smiled, walked, and talked in the most gentle of manners. Like Kushina, she was an orphan, but she was such a crybaby, always whining and sulking about her problems.
Tsubasa, who was marrying the younger twin of the cadet branch, was rude. She often mocked Ama while smirking, and was the most intelligent of the kunoichi’s in training. A know it all with a superiority complex.
Ikera and Tsume were consulting each other about their bundles of flwoers, both of which looked like train wrecks. Kushina often butted heads with Tsume because, on the first day they met, Tsume’s puppy, Kuromaru, almost peed on her. She was laid back and didn’t like to think too much. More obnoxious than anyone Kushina had ever met.
Ikera was a very interesting girl. She had a sense of dark humor, and a habit of pointing out the obvious. Kushina didn’t care for her at all, though. They weren’t’ friends or enemies, just classmates who had to see each other every day.
Hana, probably the ugliest girl in class, had a massive unibrow and greasy, black hair. She knew plenty of ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, and bragged about being the best. She challenged everyone , all the time, even animals and little kids.
Mai, her best friend, wasn’t flower arranging at all. She just tossed whatever she ripped out of the ground in the air and danced around Hana, trying to ruin her staring contest with the rabbit hiding in the grass.
Usagi had the best in-progress bouquet of them all. She sat with Mebuki, a homely girl with long orange hair, pointing at different flowers, naming them and stating their purposes. Medicine, food, poison, etc. Her expertise in flowers had earned her a part time job at the Yamanaka flower shop. Rumor had it that the clan heir, Inoichi, had a crush on her.
Yoshino and her best friend, Ryo, were in yet another fight, with bossy, sassy, boisterous Yoshino doing most of the fighting while Ryo ate potato chips and stared suspiciously at a pile of ants.
Kushina turned away from her classmates and fell back in the soft grass to glare at the sky. None of these people had any interest in being friends with her. If she even got close to them, they’d either scream and run away or throw things, be it insults or rocks. Her declaration of being the first female hokage when she grew up had earned her the position of most hated kid in class. That, and the fact that all the adults looked at her with fear and hatred.
She was the butt of everyone's jokes, and the scapegoat for their hatred of nine tails, which was sealed inside her.
A tear escaped from her eyes, and she quickly brushed it away. She never asked for this. She didn’t ask to be a hated outsider, a loner. It was all their fault! Her clan, the Uzumaki, were the self-proclaimed strongest, oldest family out there. For years they’d used the fighting between the Senju and Uchiha to hide themselves in the shadows while they developed medical ninjutsu and sealing spells that would lead to the village of Uzushio being named “the land of magic and medicine.” As heiress, she was trained constantly ever since she could hold a kunai knife, and the cruel elders warned her if she didn’t become the strongest their clan had to offer, she’d be turned into a minor jinchuuriki.
Jinchuuriki’s were people with power sealed within. Major Jinchuuriki’s were the most powerful, with one of the nine tailed beasts sealed inside them, and they were often used as weapons rather than mere vessels. Minor Jinchuurikis had less famous demons, ancient texts, forbidden jutsu, and the like sealed within them. Almost everyone in the Uzumaki were minor Jinchuuriki’s, and so they didn’t fear the tailed beasts, thinking their combined forces superior. So they received a third name: “The Jinchuuriki Utopia.”
Still, this meant they weren't allowed outside their village ever, because people outside wanted to kidnap minor Jinchuurikis in order to compete with the five great nations. Both her parents were minor jinchuurikis, and they often dreamed of the world outside, like caged birds.
So Kushina worked hard for years, to avoid their fate. But in one night of blood and terror, everything changed.
The Uzumaki’s mysterious and powerful abilities were greatly feared. They were targeted, and eradicated. She survived by playing dead, and was rescued by Konoha anbu black ops. At the time, she assumed this was because her entire family was dead, but in fact the black ops had been sent days before the massacre to discuss with the Uzushio elders who would be lady Mito’s successor. Kushina’s survival was called a miracle by the Konoha elders, as she was incredibly gifted, with a chakra and life force strong even for someone from the Uzumaki clan. She learned of her fate in the most terrible way, and no matter how she begged and pleaded, they ignored her.
The only one who listened at all was lady Mito, who had held Kushina, stroking the top of her head gently. However, she did not lie like her mother would, and tell her everything would be okay. Instead she gave her real hope.
It is true that you and I were both brought here to be the vessel for nine tails. However, there is a way for even people like us to be happy.
Eager for some good news, after all she had been through, Kushina met lady Mito’s wise, old eyes.
The key… Is love. If we fill ourselves with love first, then even we can be happy.
After that, she told Kushina everything. How the nine tails was used by a man called Madara Uchiha to attack the village, how lady Mito’s “most precious person” defeated Madara and acquired nine tails. How lady Mito, wanting to be strong for lord First, sealed nine tails within herself of her own accord. How they had a child together. How he died. How she had longed to see him once more, be it ghost, illusion, or dream.
Now, that dream will come true soon. But don’t be afraid, Kushina. No one is born alone. You do that yourself by cutting others off. Be strong, have hope, and live. Survive, no matter what, and good things will come your way.
Then she died, leaving Kushina alone despite her words. Being a sealing jutsu master herself, she was forced to seal nine tails herself. It felt just like suicide, and afterwards, she was kept in a dark, dark room underground until the nine tails settled enough that she could barely feel his chakra.
The third hokage warned her that as jinchuuriki she would need to train harder than everyone else, and was thrown into a class where everyone was two years older than her.
Except him.
That stupid, girly, flakish, copycat banana head, who was a Namikaze of all things, but still had a million fans and four close friends. His desire to be hokage, unlike hers, was welcomed and encouraged. He was stalking her too. Every day, all the time, she caught him staring at her. Following her. When he wasn’t training, or hanging out with everyone, he was usually close by.
Just the other day, she’s caught him again.
Stop following me! She yelled, and shoved him.
It didn’t seem to hurt him at all, and for the first time since her first day, she stood up to him again.
I'm going to be hokage! She declared. Someone like you could never do it!
But I will. He stated, smiling at her.
As if! You just watch, I'm going to surpass you in no time!
So you admit I'm stronger.
Irritated, she turned and ran off.
Then! He called out to her. Would you like to make a bet!
She ignored him and kept running, only to have him dash ahead of her, then turn and block her way.
Move it, flake! She ordered.
Did you hear me? He pestered. Would you like to make a bet?
Annoyed, she asked: What sort of bet?
I will be hokage, I’m willing to stake my life on that oath. But you’re strong too. If you get the title and I don’t, I wont follow you anymore. But if I win—
You’re annoying! She kicked dust at him.
He side stepped away and locked eyes with her again. –If I win, marry me.
She recoiled, embarrassed, and though she would never admit it, flattered. Then it occurred to her that he was probably joking, and she hated boys who treated girls like jokes.
You’re so stupid! As if Id fall for a lame trick like that!
It’s not a trick. He assured her, looking sincere. If I lose, I’ll leave you alone. But if I win, marry me. I promise I'm not joking. Please agree.
This was uncomfortable. At this point, she didn’t think he was lying, but it was still embarrassing. She thought it over very quickly, and came to the conclusion that never, in a million years, would this guy be hokage.
Fine! Now move!
She pushed past him and ran off.
“Kushina?”
She blinked her eyes open. Mikoto and Kizashi, two more of her classmates and her only friends, were looking down at her. It was sunset. When had she fallen asleep? And where had the class gone?
“Its late, girlie!” Kizashi said, poking her in the face. “Everyone’s gone home.”
“He’s right.” Mikoto smiled at her. “Are you okay? You looked like you were having a nightmare.”
Kushina blushed and shook her head. “No, no its nothing! I just don’t like flowers that much is all… Hate ‘em really…”
“Well who doesn’t?” Kizashi nodded, crossing his arms. “Flowers are lame!”
Kushina stood up, yawning. “I’m going home.”
“Do you want to stay at my place?” Mikoto offered. ”I know you hate living in that big house, all by yourself.”
Kushina whirled and grinned. “No but thanks, buddy. I’ll see you guys at class tomorrow.”
She turned and walked home, feeling the heavy eyes of her two friends on her back the whole way.
3 years later, she dashed into her house. Normally she ignored the large, bathroom mirror. But not today!
Throwing the door open, she hopped up on the counter, taking a big look at herself with her new headband on.
“Yes!” She screamed, throwing her fists in the air. “I DID IT! I’M A NINJA! NINJA! NINJA! NINJA!”
And she was on the same team as Kizashi and Mikoto. Nothing could ruin this day!
She jumped, hearing something crash and shatter in the kitchen.
She frowned. What was that? A visitor? She didn’t have any pets…
“Sarutobi-ossan?” She called, getting down off the counter and walking out, down the hall, to the kitchen. It was dark, with the red light from a scarlet sunset illuminating the room in certain spots.
“I’m home.” She called, looking this way and that. “Is anybody home?”
In a moment of terror, three… No, four shadows revealed themselves. She gasped, and ran for her life, not thinking at all. Her heart raced, and an image of Minato, running through the woods, flashed through her mind.
She felt hands on her back, and called out at the last second.
“Help me! ANYONE!”
