Nami was originally designed to do what I said she would. Lose an arm
You must be registered for see images
Her first sketch has 2 arms but later oda drew her like this meaning that at some point she would lose her arm.

Lets examine Nami's weaknesses as well, but to do that we need look at her strengths mainly her only real strength. Her weapon.

Its her only strength. If you take it away from her and everything strong about her is gone. She is her own weakness. Her lack of internal strength is her weakness.

And assuming koka + a clima-tact won't help because how do you mix haki with something like that? Her natural progression wouldn't be more strength or more haki or haki at all
For her to become stronger she needs less of herself, being without her MECHANICAL weapon. And to do that she needs to build the climatact into her.

Again look at this picture

She doesn't even have her orginal weapon (Bo staff) she has an axe. And since her original weapon was hidden on her thigh wouldn't it make sense for her climatact to be hidden in her robot arm and then for her to use something else for close range combat?

TL;DR

Nami will get a robotic arm that houses the Climatact technology and wield an axe instead to become stronger.

Sanji will rape whatever thing that made her lose it
What if she realizes that she can't get stronger and does it herself?
I mean its not like putting koka into the clima tact is gonna make the weather hurt logias. And once she has mastered weather, which she had in east blue, there isn't anything she can do to become stronger. She could put a bigger power source on the clima-tact but if someone takes it from her then what? She is just dead weight to the rest of the crew, even usopp has haki and his hammer at this point.
What if she realizes this herself and then takes her own foot and arm off and uses them to become stronger?

Or oda can simply do an asspull and give her the haoshoku haki

Nah. It's not because Oda had at one point that idea, that it still will happen. Zoro was originally supposed to be part of Bugi's crew, but that never turned out like that.

If Oda wanted Nami to lose here arm, he would have done it during the timeskip. By now it's simply too late for such a character development. She trains for 2 years to then 'realize' after it she is too weak and has to lose an arm to become stronger?

Also considering she is wielding a huge ass axe and has a prosthetic foot likewise, it makes me believe that she was originally intended to be some kind of a close combat tomboyish warrior, which is completely the opposite of how Nami now is: medium/long distance 'fighter' who tries as much as possible to avoid combat and mainly relies on her intellect and is the Strawhat's Pirates sexy drawing card. I reckon that the idea of a prosthetic arm and huge axe got reincarnated into Captain Morgan all the way back at the start of the series who had a huge axe as...a prosthetic arm.

Not to mention the Strawhats already have a cyborg. No need for another one. So nah. That entire explanation of how she is her own weakness can be disregarded. She's the navigator, not a frontline soldier. The only thing she has to do is being to able to stand her man. It's very questionable if Oda even finds it necessary to give her haki and if he does, in the case of Nami it would highly likely be the CoO, which you don't need a prosthetic arm for.

See the main difference from this to the proposed version of nami is that Oda Never addressed it. He decided not To have Zoro be part of Buggy's crew due to the inability to him seeing zoro follow someone like that iirc.
There is no reason for oda to change this design or save it, or at least one that oda has ever addressed.

Its not simply to late, I dare say it's the perfect time. 2 years about learning about weather would leave most people an expert. Think about it like its a college. Nami being a prodigy and one of the smartest people in the world after two years we can expect her to know almost all there really is to know about her weapon and very well leaves her at a plateau of power. A point where her weapon is perfect and cannot be improved nor her talent with it.

Lets address this. Nami is and was always supposed to be a woman who used her "sexy drawing card" to manipulate people into stealing things. And as of Alabasta (We had a whole mini section of character development about nami claiming to want to fight more) Nami very much still is very tomboyish in the fact that she is constantly hitting people (comically)
Not to mention the Strawhats already have a cyborg. No need for another one. So nah.
The straw hats already have a swordsman but then when brook joined we got another. We didn't need another Devil fruit user because we had one but we got Robin. Really this is circular logic that should not be used. "We have one so we don't need one"

The thing about people not being able to fight is Bull, Franky is a shipwright, sanji a cook, Robin a scholar and none of them being an inherit fighter. But even back at Ennies lobby when the gally la employees clearly state that she is apart of the main fighting force.
And With the idea of giving her CoO how does that make her stronger? It is easier to dodge but none of her attacks are strong enough to hurt anyone worth hurting.

That's really Goda's sketch? It does look awesome. Well, if she does loose her arm eventually, something like this shouldn't be a trouble to do if Usopp and Franky combine their knowledge and skills.

Do you really think Oda has addressed everything he ever thought of? Shown us everything related to all the characters he made? That's really not an argument, Oda can probably talk days about stuff like this.

It's too late. The timeskip was a turning point in the series. Everything from that point on is based on it. Every character used those two years to become stronger in what they had to become stronger. It's what defines them and every change they will undergo will be in line of what they did during those two years. Nami is the navigator, she increased her navigation skills tremendously on the sky island. If Oda wanted to have a drastic change in character design, he had to do it there. If he was really planning to use that idea, an idea that he apparently had from even before the series started, he would have done it during the timeskip. He decided himself that this was the moment the characters had to undergo a change as preparation for the New World. And then he is going to make Nami lose her arm hundreds of chapters after this moment? Yeah no, too little, too late. That completely flips her character upside down and if that college logic would apply, Zoro and Luffy are now as strong as they will ever be then? No room to become stronger? So Luffy is already the Pirate King and Zoro the strongest swordsman in the world?

There isn't much tomboyish in her for so far there was much in her and after the time skip he only emphasized even more her sexy design, which is completely the opposite of the cyborg lady with the large axe.

Swordsman are very common, cyborgs far less and Brook used a sword from the start. Franky being a cyborg is his thing and then suddenly Nami is going to transform into one during the series?

Did I say they did not have to fight? No. I said she isn't supposed to be a frontline soldier, which she isn't, and that she simply has to be able to stand her ground or are suggesting Nami also is going to become a warmongering beast like Zoro, jumping at every chance of a brawl she might encounter? The only thing Zoro and Luffy did was training, training and training to become as strong as possible. Do you think most of the other's did that? Of course not. Yes they trained, but Nami would have spent a large amount of her time studying the weather. Chopper studied medicine etc.

Seriously. If Oda wanted it to happen, he would have done it already. You are suggesting that he is going to implement a character concept that already exists among the Strawhats using an ancient idea he already used at the start of the series on a moment it's long overdue skipping the moment it would have been ideal, all this because you find Nami too weak despite having no idea of what she is exactly capable of and while she is the navigator and doesn't need to be able to beet the crap out of everyone.

Do you seriously think that she isn't supposed to fight? Do you seriously think this is the last major change anyone is gonna ever have happen? Do you think that seriously the Time skip was the last thing oda would do to the straw hats? When someone is in a fight do you think that Nami isnt gonna step up? She did against jora. She did at Enies lobby. She is a frontline fighter. And she has plateaued at this current strength.
This is pointless as you are entrenched in your opinion and this is pointless.
