| She doesn't seem to have much modesty, because she sometimes wears rather skimpy clothes and allows people to take pictures of her wearing very little clothes, like swimsuits (as long as they pay for her). She uses her looks and her appeal to her own advantage, flirting with men and acting helplessly. Nami also has a fashion obsession since she is never seen wearing the same clothes. Her love of money stems from her childhood, where she lived a poor life and was often upset at having little wealth despite the love of her adopted mother. She became even more obsessed when her family’s poor status led to her mother’s death. She grew up constantly getting money through theft to pay for the freedom of her village. However, the one thing she will not do is sell out a comrade, no matter what the sum.

| Nami is an orphan of a war between the ninja clans, found by Bell-mère, a female merchant, on a hostile battlefield when she was still a baby. The merchants adopted her and Nojiko, another orphan. The three became as close as a real family. After few years, the infamous fish-man pirate Arlong took over the island and imposed a fee on every single adult and child in the village in order to 'live'. Since Bell-mère could not pay for her entire family's monthly fee for living, she was used as an example by Arlong to demonstrate to the townspeople what will happen to them if they ever go against him or fail to pay the fee. Nami was then kidnapped and forced to become a merchant for Arlong after he noticed the quality of her craftsmanship at such a young age. However, Arlong struck a deal with Nami: if she brought him Ryo 20K he would free her village. At age of 20, Nami had spent eight years making crafts for Arlong and stealing treasure from pirates in order to buy back her village. After succeeding she then bought her village back giving it freedom. As she now goes on her journey away from the island, by using craftsmanship to make money and use the navigation skills she has to go on a travel around the world and to become the richest person in the world. | Nami is to create and sell items and goods that can be both beneficial and/or detrimental. Can hold up to 4 stores Unique to Merchants, Nami is able to sell multiple versions of their equipment and items to up to any number of people as long as they have the stock for it. She is also capable of greater member interaction in the Ninja World, allowing them to purchase items and things from normal ninja as well as from the Ninja Shop for their own shops, making note of it in their Ryo/Kumi Transactions. Market Owners and up are able to use their ports as Bounty Outposts and gain a portion of the bounty if collected there. Nami can only use non-chakra enhanced Taijutsu and Kenjutsu.
