Nagato's Rinnegan

Hi guiz I have a little confusion going in my brain right now. As I was shovelling snow outside.. I came to wonder that I feel as if Tobi is lying about giving Nagato the rinnegan. Why? Well because first off if his actual eyes were replaced by the rinnegan, wouldn't that mean that it should be active 24/7? When Nagato was a kid and those 2 shinobi broke into his house, that's when his rinnegan was awakened for the first time. For example, Kakashi's actual eye was replaced with Obito's sharingan which is why he always covers that eye, because his sharingan is always active, it can't return to a normal eye, however with Nagato, his rinnegan had to be awakened, and we've also never seen Nagato with sharingan either, just a thought.

No tobi did give naguto the rinengan because it is the only way that makes since because madara was the only one throughout the uchiha to gain it and it probably can only be gained by uchiha because they inherited the sages eyes and senju the body and the uzumaki are related to senju. And also madara even knew about naguto when naguto lived during the thirds rein and madara was long dead by then so:shrug:

That is true that if Rinnegan is implanted, it should be active 24/7. Either Tobi is lying or he used plot no jutsu

But does he need to kill someone in order to awaken the power? I'm trying to say that if you replace a perfectly normal eye with a freaking purple eye wouldn't it make sense that his eye remain purple? Unless he transplanted an unawakened eye, but then he would have have to go through sharingan before getting to rinnegan. Also, nagato awakened his rinnegan in order to kill the 2 ninja, it wasn't awakened because of killing them.

We never seen nagato eyes b4 rinnegan, meanin if his eyes are transplanted he cannot deactivate them.

the dude from the hidden mist also has his (idk how to spell it) Byakugan active 24/7. Wasnt that implanted into him as well?
